my inner left CV boot ripped and im trying to get a replacement. However im not sure which one is going to fit my car seeing how there's different ones for tiptronic/DGS/manual. So from this list http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200..._boot_kit.html which one would fit my 2006 tiptronic? Thanks

Don't replace the boot. Replace the whole thing.

ok than could anyone give me a link to the left cv joint or a part number to it?

You could go for this http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...?apwcid=nextag.
Before my accident I had my passenger side replaced for $160 installed, new. I also recommend rhttp://www.raxles.com/ but they are about $240 shipped.

Good choice. I did the same thing.

Well this is ironic. I bought a new passat (used) on Friday and now there's a clicking noise when I turn right. Good thing is, my dealer is taking care of it now.

if you can, please share what the cause and repair for this noise might be. thanks

ok so the CV joint arrived. And i have 1 question. Why doesnt it have a ABS ring? Does the passat not need one? I though that all CV joints has ABS bands? a little insight would be neat

bump i would like to know this before i give this to my mechanic
#14
Any updates? Im about to order this part how did it work out for you?
#15
no one has answered yet, I've droped my car off to the mechanic so its too late. When i get it back today ill test if my ABS still works and report back

ok so i got my car back and ABS works fine. The OEM CV joint didnt have ABS ring either so this joint is good to buy. Do note however the one that i bough is a little bit heavier than OEM.
