Thread: Question about conv top

  1. 10-08-2012 01:00 PM #1
    Hi Everyone!

I was hoping I could get some input from my forum community about a 2001 VW Cabrio that I am thinking of buying. The rear corner seams of the convertible top are separating/coming apart. It doesn't appear to be all the way through just yet.

Is this something that can be fixed with a kit? Or does it require replacement of the entire top? I wanted to attach a picture, but it appears that as a newer member, I am not allowed. If the tear eventually goes all the way through, can that be repaired? Or does it need to be replaced?

The car is otherwise in good shape, and I was thinking of buying it.

    Thanks!

    Manny

While some have had short term success for repairing the seam..the only real fix is to replace the top.

You can't upload pics to this site. You put them on some other web accessible location(photobucket, etc) and just add links to that pic in your posts here.
