My age has nothing to do with my opinions, and just because you're older doesn't mean you have to forsake your own views to fit in with your peers.
shhuuuuut uuuuuuup. No one here respects you because you're ****ing obtuse as hell.

I'll break it down for you: People go to H20 because it is a CAR SHOW put on to SHOW CARS and HAVE FUN. Be it drinking, going go-karting for the day, enjoying the beach, travelling with friends, who cares really WHY? We get it, it's not for you. Congratulations. But if you can't even understand why it IS for thousands of people, you're either deliberately obtuse, or dumb.

FWIW, I like OP's production, but I don't like his choice of venue to cover.

Your wrong. I think your perception of the huge party scene is mostly due to the location. OCMD is a huge party location EVERY weekend regardless of the event. I know me and my group of friends as well as most of the people I know that go, look forward to this weekend as a vacation and like to have a good time with their friends. I would say the majority of the people are there to enjoy the car scene and sounds of big turbo's screaming up and down the strip all night.

I don't know why your so butt hurt over H20i but this was my sixth year going and had a great time as always and got to see some very awesome cars.

Probably not, but your extreme close-mindedness will start to go away.

But this show? Is it all about the low? Does anyone show up with a nice, OEM+ MK2 16V anymore or is that deemed lame by today's "enthusiasts"?

Oh, and get those damn kids off my lawn!
There are still plenty of clean well built VW's of all generations, however most are strictly for the "stance" style or at least most that are shown in pictures and videos. My Mk2 can be seen in this video a few times at the end while parked(Helios GLI).

I heard all week-end that I need to lower my Mk2 however it's built to be an enjoyable car to drive, I am not out there for the attention as the "stance" cars are.

And not just in this thread, either.

I don't disagree with him about the show (I went a few years ago and it just wasn't my thing) but dude... let it go. You don't have to convince everyone that H2O sucks. Move on.

Also quick tip for anyone that is always upset not seeing their car in pictures or videos at events like these.

    1. Do something unique: Wheels, Paint Job, Etc I know it's getting harder and harder to do something different when now weird and odd is the normal, and CCW classics are on every car, but do something you don't always see. (In a good way)

    2. Be everywhere: With photographers and videographers coming out of the woodwork to try and capture their own experience you need to go to as many meets, as many events as possible. Increase the chances of the car being seen and you will increase the chances of pictures/video. Simple

I did see one other baby blue early westy mk1 down there, but admittedly I don't get much day time cruising in as I'm usually busy at the show both days.

IMHO stance is cheap and that's why its so prevalent with the younger crowd looking for a scene to settle into. All you need is cut/ebay springs and some wheels with a terrible offset and you are hella flush. Performance parts are costly and don't have the visual impact that attention seekers are after.

VW shows seemed to move away from performance and into a make specific stance-off, its not my scene and I am disappointed that there are not more performance oriented shows. I really dont plan to go back to H20, Waterfest seems okay still.

But it is quite an eclectic mix of cars down there, I think most people would be suprised.

And to all people hating on C4 A6, you need to get a for yourself instead of keeping track of someone else's life on the internet.

And you guys are just a bunch of sour people who knows that you bought the wrong car. Not a single on of your cars would be able to hang with the ITR.

on the surface, it just seems like an inordinate amount of spring break-ish behavior by people who should know better.

Yea but how many of you were there and how many of the idiots were there? Actually, it doesn't even matter. Even just a couple of asshats can ruin the image for the entire population. Just look at America.

I couldn't give 2 ****s about the Honda community. Those morons are just that, morons. It's not my fault that the ITR was made by Honda and desired by thieves.

    Nice try though.

I'll go ahead and Honda to ITR for you though because I'm just that kind of guy. I still don't care what you think about us based off my actions. But you guys care what I think about you guys based off the actions of the others. Shame.
