    how hard is it to change the head on these cars my **** overheated and is throwing water and smoke from exhaust pipe

    Not that hard as long as you keep the cam timing marks in the right orientation, and tdc.

    As far as head jobs in general, any VW 2.0 is pretty easy. Start by picking up a repair manual and checking out the procedure. Said manual also has torque specs that you'll need.

    a bentley manuel will be needed , that is for sure. but a head job is really easy . and timing will be very easy since things will be apart. just remember when ** REMOVING THE HEAD REFFER TO MANUEL FOR REMOVAL OF BOLT SEQUENCE AND INSTALL SEQUENCE.***
