Just picked this up the other day. Previous one-owner from Colorado...never saw rain or snow and only 30,000 miles. 2004 Ultrasport model. Lots of mods, most are in my sig line.

Looking forward to learning everything I can here. I'm coming from the 4WD world of long-arm suspensions and one-ton axles, so there's going to be a bit of a learning curve.
2004 Audi A4 1.8T Ultrasport wth 6-speed: ARP Stage 3+ Turbo, Carbonio intake, RS4 dual intercoolers, S4 rear sway bar, Eibach springs, Koni sport shocks, Stoptech brakes, BBS wheels, MTM exhaust, other stuff...

Yep I've been looking into diagnostic software. Do these things throw a lot of codes? I live 2 miles from Black Forest Industries, but if I'm going to have a lot of problems I guess it would be worth it. It appears to be a Windows-based platform...are there any options for OSX?

<-- Jealous as fukc. Searched almost a year for a White Ultrasport.

You going to the BFI GTG this weekend?

I understand the proximity to the shop may make things easier, but... if you ever service the car on your own I would suggest to have it. Just like back in the day to setup the timing you needed the timing strobe light, today I believe obdII software is a must.
Furthermore, the vag-com software goes beyond the obdII functions and also allows to scan your chassis, as well as to reprogram few things on your and others cars.

Thanks for the advice man. As far as the vag-com, is there a Macintosh platform? It looks to be windows-based.

Like I said, the European Import world is very different than anything I've worked on in the past...going to be a bit of a learning curve for me. This was what I built for the last two years...

What is that crawler parked on? and Audi?

I spent some time on trails back when I was in service. Love the pic.

But, back to the OS question.
Have you tried installing Parallels or virtualbox? (they would allow you to run pc based programs.)
I am not sure of another solution right now.

It could have easily parked on an Audi, but I prefer parking on Prius'

I'll give Parallels/virtualbox a shot and see how that works out. Got my ride back from BFI and everything is in tip top shop except the exhaust flex pipe...it's almost worn though from it getting dragged over ****, but it isn't leaking yet

As far as Oktoberfest at BFI this weekend, I unfortunately won't be able to make it. Took possession of the car on Monday, and didn't find out about the event until Wednesday. I have a weekend mountain trip planned out with some college buddies already

I assume the flex pipe issue is fairly common with these low-riding Audis? I'm still getting used to driving something so low...I've dragged about 5 of 6 times already and I was going so slow I stalled out.

Welcome to the club and nice ride! I really love the USPs, though I'm a Passat driver. I'm still on the fence about Oktoberfest this weekend. I didn't preregister, but I guess I could just hang out. I don't even know many VW/Audi owners in the area.

My flex pipe is looking rough these days too, but I've been busy fixing other issues. Replaced motor mounts two weekends ago (S4 upgrades) and PCV overhaul last night with 034 Motorsport's kit (PITA).

Have fun with the new ride, I'd love to see it sometime since you're not too far away from me. Oh, and take a drive through Crabtree's lower parking deck, I've dragged more than I thought for just H&R Sports.

Yeah man. They have a bunch of imports that hang at the sonic near my house on Friday nights. You should come by or we can meet up sometime. I want to make a meet up thread in the regional section and see if we can't get some people to come out of the woodwork.
