Thread: Paint Scratch + Chips - looking for tips on not gonna paint the panel!!!

  1. 10-08-2012 11:44 PM #1
I'll try to get a picture up when I get my iphone but it's a you can't buff it out scratch of about 3", basically someone dragged something out of my truck's back door and I have a few tiny typical paint chips.

I have a factory Toyota touch up pen with paint on one side and clear on the other. Do I tape beside the scratch and paint then clear?

About to order a random orbital but would like to know how to address these areas.

Touchup is going to be hard because the metallics float to the top and will make it dark ...

Best is to use a touchup that comes in a bottle not the pen and then use an artists brush and apply it "in" the chips/scratches until they are filled and level with the original paint.

I use the pointed artist brushs that you can get 12/$1 at the Dollar Store etc.
