Many people enjoy eating apples and oranges, but in the end they are still… just apples and oranges. The R32 is passion fruit. . Live Long and Prosper.

My favorite is the panic move by the dealership to ask that the article be taken down. When are companies going to realize that this type of approach only makes things worse for them in the long run. Buying back this guy's car will be considerably cheaper than continued bad publicity.

The car that I have that a mechanic might want to take joyriding doesn't go to a dealer (or other mechanic). The cars that go to the dealer aren't the kind anyone's taking for a joyride (auto TSX, auto Jetta).

I just took my car a local VW dealer and I believe that my car was mishandled. (Not many in the middle of the state but i wont say the name). I wish that I had a recorder in there. I will have one next time along with a data logger.

I liked taking my VW years ago to a mechanic that also did Ferraris. I knew that my car was never, ever getting joyrided (not that the VW is exactly a joy ride magnet even among equals).

My buddy got in trouble for something like this... not as bad at all, but he was road testing some fancy Mustang when he worked at the Ford dealer... hit the gas a little hard when the light went green and spun the tires a bit... Owner was sitting on the transit bus next to him at the light

It's also all over their Facebook page.

That's why I always hate it when I bring my car over to the dealership for any recall work.

Unbelievable. They trash the guy's car then they get surly about it and lawyer up. I hope this is just one more nail in the coffin of dealerships.

Saw this earlier. What dumbasses. Also as the owner says, how long have they been doing this? Chevy customer service though seemed to wipe their hands of the mess, which is dumb as well.

Give the guy a new car, discipline the dealer, fire the techs/ management, etc.

I heard about this yesterday. I drive past this dealer on my way to and from work.

Apparently this has happened before with another dealer, hence the recorder. I'm waiting for it to hit local news.

I think this needs to go the way of the dealer that sold the GTR on ebay.

Looks like they've deleted their Facebook page. People are posting on the Best Kia page instead.

I can't wait for them all to die out. In today's world they are out dated and not needed.

I got a job at a dealership because I like cars.

These joyriders are what make me hate waking up in the morning, because they have made the general public think that their car is going to get abused and then they are gonna get ripped off when they come in for service.

Not that I feel like I can trust anyone I work with in the first place, but thats another story.

local news? its already made national news
it already made its way to yahoo.com front page , where you have those articles rotating , so they are most recent.
yahoo said that dealer asked them to remove the article because according to the dealer's lawyer ::
""A lawyer for Best Chevrolet, in a request to Yahoo Autos to take down this story, told us in an email that the audio was "misleadingly edited." Clark has said the dealership has threatened to sue him over the audio, but has also spoken with him about buying the Camaro back. The dealership may soon learn that in the Internet era, one burnt clutch can create quite the stink.

UPDATE: General Motors says in a statement that if the recording is valid it does not condone the behavior described, and that it is "actively working closely with the dealer to resolve this situation to the customer's satisfaction.""

Arguably this could be a vehicle theft, at leats under California law. Maybe vandalism.
