Thread: Very quick PDF/Font issue with printing at a remote computer...

Problem: I have a nice laser jet printer. For 99% of my tasks it is very suitable, but obviously prints in black and white. I needed some colour forms printed for a convention. However, I forgot I used custom fonts downloaded onto my home computer...sooooo, when I ran over to Office Max and had them printed and laminated - some really screw stuff happened to the format/fonts.

Question: I know I can save my word documents as a PDF. Is a PDF technically an image file? Thus I should be able to save the word document as a PDF (even with my downloaded fonts) and it should print correctly at a remote computer at a print shop etc? Right?

      Thanks guys.

depends on how you produce the pdf file and/or version of acrobat, should be a settings for embed fonts/subset or when exporting (word doc) check PDF/A-1a
