Be careful on the $.60/GB SSDs... Make sure they are a good brand without a bunch of issues...

OCZ is notorious for having the cheapest SSDs on the market (and are probably the $.60/GB you saw) and for their cheap models, there's a good reason... They aren't as good as the others. I can't tell you how many OCZ Agility 1, 2 and 3 drives i've seen people go through.

That is a good price on the memory, but again, make sure it's decent stuff.

I've been running 2x ocz vertex 3s for > 1 year with no issues. I probably got lucky, though and got a couple of good ones. The ssd in question is a 240gb kingston ssdnow:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...m-_-20-239-375

it was $130 after a MIR as of yesterday:

"Kingston SSDNow V+200 KR-S3040-3H 2.5 Inch 240GB SATA III Internal 7mm Solid State Drive (SSD) (Stand-alone Drive)
    $129.99
    With Promo Code: EMCYTZT2321
After $30 MIR with Free Shipping!"

the memory I bought is Corsair - pretty well-respected stuff:

I'm looking forward to running 3x 4gb vms on my laptop =) I may even be able to squeeze 4 in there, but it'll probably be swapping like mad...

I've had two OCZ's crap out on my prematurely. One after a month and the other immediately.

Crucial M4 or the Samsung 830(model?) are great.

I had to buy a couple of copies of Office last week for work, $180 for office home and business key cards. The store had a promo going, buy one copy of office and get a free Intel 60GB SSD. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get 3 of them, but a free Intel SSD when you buy a $180 software package blew my mind.

I've had great luck with my 120GB Intel X-25M but I just replaced it with a 128GB Crucial M4. My Intel went into a new Lenovo I had bought for my mom.

    i just wish that someone made 16gb x2 (32gb sodimm) ...

if they bother for the sandy/ivy bridge crowd... it'll be pretty spendy to start.

OCZ very close to going under/being bought out.
