Well, I finished my upgrade training and flew my first 5 day trip as a captain. It was a successful 5 days with only one issue on the last day (mechanical.. both primary and back up pitch trim systems failed). Good stuff. Even though I've been flying this plane for a while and have amassed about 600 hours in it, I still felt super awkward as a captain vs. first officer. Just the idea that your certificate is now on the line makes things a bit more 'real'.

I expect you to sit over there and keep to yourself unless I ask you a question..and that's not going to happen. Don't plan on flying during any of our time together, either. I expect my coffee black and my women white, you'll do the preflight, lav inspection and cleaning and do the walk around when it's cold, wet or otherwise uncomfortable. You'll need to anticipate any charts that I might wish to look at. You aren't allowed to speak with our flight attendants unless directly spoken to. And finally, if you touch anything in this flight deck, you'll find yourself in a free fall from FL360 without a chute. Now that we've covered the bases, do you have anything to add? No? I didn't think so. Lets go have a great flight!'

Ya man... 'Rams horn' style yoke. The only time it's awkward is when you're trying to land in a crosswind, you can't get enough leverage on it to put in a proper x-wind control.

I work for a great company called Jetsuite! They've been good to me and it's about to get even better. They announced the acquisition of 15 CJ3s and they're opening a new PBI base, which is what I bid for and got. One more month on the Phenom!
