In addition to all my other squeeks and rattles, the wiper blades are now making a spring creaky noise. Anyone notice this on theirs yet?

Was the window wet, just intermittent rain, were the blades smooth or chattering as they moved.

First thing i would do is make sure the blades are clean by just wiping them off with some windex, use your sprayer and see what happens, if the problem is still there, let VW check them out.

Besides being annoying, continued issue is distracting and a could be a safety issue.

They will probably check tension and replace the blades.

If you find the rubber 'stutters' across the glass as mine were doing, I would say the problem
is probably dried out rubber that I was told happens when the car sits for an extended period of
time while being subjected to the elements of weather as it waits to be transported to dealers.
They 'popped' my old ones out and replaced them (for free) to end the problem. I was having
this 'stutter' problem from day-1 but thought, in time, the rubber would loosen up. It never did.
There is a spring in the center of both wiper arm assemblies and you can probably lift the arm
a bit to engage the spring and thereby find out it this is the problem area that needs lubrication,
adjustment, or replacement. Other than these two 'above' mentioned possibilities, leaves you
with the actual motor most likely being the problem.

    ME TOO!
When the wiper has been in operation for a little while it starts making a spring noise.
I told dealer about it, they told me it's just the nature of it can't really fix it.

It gets pretty annoying, good thing I don't live in a very rainy part of the country.

Wipers should run 'smooth as silk' and virtually sound free. VW doesn't like to go for new
rubber inserts but you might be able to get one replacement out of them. You've got
nothing to lose by calling VWHQ @ 1-800-822-8987 and ask them if they could speak to
the dealer. If it's more involved than simple rubber, they need to cover it under warranty.

Well if you go out to the car show at Headlands beach this weekend. I would be more then willing to check it out for you. I have yet to have any issues with the wiper blades.

It's definitely a metallic spring noise. I've had the car come a year next month and it hasn't made that noise until today.

If it is coming from one of the two wipers only, then that wiper arm's tension spring would
seem to be the culprit. You could totally remove the wiper arm by loosening the bolt at its
base and now, running only one wiper, see if the sound is gone? If not, you can replace the
removed arm and remove the one on the other side. If the sound is still not gone, I have
to think that it is in the motor since the odds of both arm springs going defective st the
    same time seems remote.

I'm gonna add it to the list of stuff the dealership needs to fix. Still have to get both windows fixed, the gas gauge, the hole in the sunroof screen, and the squeaky instrument panel and paneling around the stereo. At this rate they are going to have my car for a week.

Sounds like they are going to be taking the whole 'dang' car apart and will probably keep it
for a year ! Better get the public transportation schedules ready.

definitely a mechanical spring noise, not the rubber

I'm gonna make them give me a loaner car. Now the blades aren't making the noise today. I wonder if it had something to do with the heavy rain yesterday.

I think they will only replace the rubber for the first year, so at least get that, if it continues bring it back in. i think it is 12 months, might only be 6, but you should be able to talk them into it, since it is the first step and a 5 minute deal.

I guess the heavy rain could make the glass more slippery but how it would cancel out a
metallic noise is beyond me? Perhaps 'The Cadenza Man' can get to the bottom of this?
