Well I personally prefer the look of the Clipper kit. I know many people hate it, but I think it looks fine. I think it makes the car look more modern and I like how the kit flows all the way around the car. I wasn't actually going to paint it white, but firstly I thought it would look better with the white top, and the main reason was the fact that white paint is much cheaper than red. Besides, the red was starting to fade to pink.
The reason why I cant wait to sell it is because I don't think the car is right for me. Even though I may look cool in a convertible, it isn't very comfortable. The nice weather here in the Bay Area is quickly going away and it will be cold and rainy until April.(Whats the point of having a drop to if you cant use it for half a year?) It was a fun project and I am ready for a new project. I am planning on getting a VW Corrado SLC as my next project.
Thanks for the input.

red cab + white top = best color combo in the worldbut i'm a bit biased. it looks to me like whoever sprayed it did a good job. props to you if you did it yourself
it looks clean from the pics. But as far the whole only getting to enjoy it half of the year, I think to most of us that half that's really really fun makes up for the half that's freezing cold where you scrape the frost off the inside of the windshield
and the cool factor makes up for the uncomfortableness. but to me the uncomfortableness makes it all the more fun
the longer you keep a cab, the more it grows on you usually. nice work on the car

If I had the skills to do it, I would have painted it myself. This paint job turned out surprisingly well. I had it painted at the local Macco. I got the cheapest paint job they had. The $299 special. in Ford white. They did the whole car in less then a day. There was some slight over spray on a few trim pieces but that was all taken care of. As for getting rid of it, i just don't see my self enjoying this car as much as someone else. There are still a few things to do with it but hopefully I can finish it and sell it by the end of the year. It could even wind up being someones Christmas present.

Nope, it's not for sale yet. I still have a few things left to do to it.

Wow, I didn't realize how many people liked the red and white Cabbys. As for Macco, I guess every one is different, but I figured that I would give it a try. We have had a Toyota Camry painted there two years ago and they did a good job.(My neighbor worked there anyway so we got a deal.)
Thanks for looking.![]()
