Cruising around ebay I noticed that the GTs have really come down recently. If I was in the market for a newer e class coupe, or 6 series it would be hard not to take a look at a GT.

500+ hp leather everything seems like a pretty nice car for blasting down deserted highways.

I'm still young enough that I would probably be putting the money towards a more performance oriented car, but I have always had a soft spot for these cars. They seem to get fresher with age to me.

Wonder how low they will go in price now that the update is out.

This specific bentley is on ebay for $61,000 21,000 miles

Sure, people can probably afford a 70k dollar luxury vehicle... but I bet they can't afford to maintain it.

They've been that price for a while. Nearly all British luxury/sports cars have crazy depreciation, Astons, Bentleys, Jags, even Rolls Royces lose a ton of value in the first 5 or so years

This car has never really done anything for me. Especially living in LA when you see them on a daily basis. For the price I'd probably get an Aston or a 911

GTs have a relatively low cost of ownership for a "supercar". As long as we are not talking serious engine work it is about on par with a higher end Audi.

Pure GT car with outrageous maintenance prices.

Give me a 911 for the money.

I'd personally look for a manual equipped car instead but just to give you an idea...

      EDIT: Bingo!

To me, this car is the Camry of the high end luxury segment...especially in that Silver, no thanks

      I too, would buy a 911 turbo.

I don't know if the 911 is really shopped for the same reason. I think of the Bentley as a serene overpowered gt, and the 911 as a hard core sports car in a business suit. Also as much as I love 911s I see them everywhere. While gts are pretty common there is still a bit of an event every time one pulls up.

I'd take the money and get Turbo R, a XJS convertible, and a practical DD.
However that's not the question, I would not buy a Continental GT. They don't do anything for me.

I'd take a new Audi S5 over a used CGT.

To me they always seemed like an oversized version of a Passat if it ever came in a coupe version. Interior is pretty simple, some parts looks like they were taken straight from AUDI/VW, doesn't have as many luxury features as high end BMW's or MB's.

However, they are freaking fast, you floor one and it's got so much torque that you feel like you're in an airplane while it's about to take off!
"As anyone who has ever tinkered with an old BMW engine or looked out on to the wing of a jet can attest, pure response to engineering requirements can sometimes deliver just as much pleasure as a more intentionally aesthetic design process."

As much as I dislike the Continental and love the Integra Type R, there is no way an Integra is going to out-accelerate an Integra Type R and I highly doubt anybody is buying these cars to take to the track

Are you dense? He didn't compare it to a Camry, he said it was the Camry OF THAT SEGMENT. Aka its boring and zero fun when compared to its competition.

They will drop in price further. There are a ton of them out there.

I'd definitely buy one, simply because of the engine. 6 liters, 2 turbos and massively built.

Getting 800+ hp out of one would be as simple as ditching the airboxes, a couple head spacers, ecu reflash and opening up the exhaust. Might need to up the FPR.

No idea what the trans is rated for, but the engine is a beast. So under-stressed it is not even funny. Tons of power left on the table.

      Look at these connecting rods-

      Current VAG collection- 08 TT coupe 3.2 MT | 06 Phaeton 4-seater 6.0 W12 | 04 VW R32 | 03 GTI VR6 - all of them 24v VR6 based.
      Current other- 00 M Roadster | 12 Kia Soul 1.6 stick |01 ZRX1200R | 03 KLX400R | 00 XR200R

Meh, I'm not a luxury GT type of person.

      I'd rather get a sports car like a GT3.
