For that money i'd be in a Porsche.

I don't think i'd enjoy maintaining a Bentley. I like wrenching on cars and it just seems like a car that would piss me off. I already know what to expect of a Porsche and am familiar with them.

I just don't get the appeal of this car. So bulky looking.

If I want something that weighs as much as a Tahoe and screams "conspicuous consumption!" at the top of its lungs, I'll get an Escalade.

Seeing what they've done with the new CGT V8, it's telling as to what was wrong with the original car (weight, understeer, nose heavy).

I don't think they're bad looking, but it's at the back of the pack for cars in that price range I would buy. Even confining the choice to full size 2+2 GTs, you'd see me in some form of M-B CL-class first.

It's kind of a harsh comparison but I can see what he's saying. For the money there are definitely more exciting cars available. Of course I would also go for the 911 turbo

This is one of the very few performance oriented cars that I would feel perfectly comfortable driving as an automatic (which is a good thing in this instance, of course!) and I just so happen to like the styling of the car. So I could absolutely see myself driving a used version of the GT.

Having said that, for $65k, I wouldn't consider a Bentley GT. I'd much rather order a brand new Cayman S with just a couple of performance options for $3-$4k more and then do european delivery. The car and the experience would just be so much cooler than the Bentley GT.

However, if these cars get down to say $40k, crazy things might just happen.

Don't know why you guys are even bothering comparing a Bentley to other performance-oriented cars...

I would buy one for $65k any day. They're still practically brand-new with that kind of mileage.

However that's not the question, I would not buy a Continental GT. They don't do anything for me.

lucky for you well maintained early turbo Rs are in the teens!

Yep parts might be a little expensive, but on the bright side, you can vag-com it when the Christmas lights go on

I just simply don't care for the looks. Now if we were talking Flying Spur, that might be a different story.

If I had to spend 65k on a used luxo/performance GT car, I'd probably go with a Mercedes CL63 over the Conti GT, you'll get a much newer car for the same money.

      Or a 997 turbo

Agreed. While I posted I would take a 997TT over a Continental GT, the Flying Spur is one on my favorite luxury sedans.

Kind of funny how I hate the coupe but love the sedan of what is essentially the same car.

I really dislike these cars. As said before, an older V8 Vantage falls in that range. For a bit more you could get a 997.2 C2S, 997.1 Turbo, or best of all 997.1 GT3.

Never really cared for the Bently GT. It's a confused car IMO. It has lots of power but don't handle all that well, it's not that big, but weights like full size SUV, it's a a luxury GT, but it's pretty cramped inside. For the money new or used there are better cars out there.

I would definitely get one if I had the money. It drives like the tank it resembles. The fact that my grandparents' Flying Spur has survived their maintenance schedule (nonexistent) has sold me on that car. They literally don't take their cars in until they're broken. It does have this weird tendency to randomly throw up a overheat! warning for 30sec. when driving on the highway though.

The fact that you are greeted with the same tone as my old Jetta MKIV when the lights are on and you open the door was disconcerting. It's had a bunch of small trim pieces break too, but I'm not sure if that's a result of my young family members or not.

Sorry, the sound was annoying in the Jetta and it was annoying in a car that cost $170,000 when it was new. If it was out of place enough for my grandma to dislike the noise it made, I don't feel as bad.
