I posted this in my other thread but it's pretty dead at this point and its kind of a separate question anyway
Anyone know how to save youtube videos on your computer or more specifically on itunes. That's really the only thing I had that I couldn't save. It don't remember how I did it the first time but it was pretty simple. I think I just right clicked on the video and saved it but I couldn't get that to work. I have some videos that I use for coaching but I also need to update my itouch

Actually I apologize, my experience has been with Youtube to MP3 services, which do not require the Java applets. I guess I do not have experience with downloading the video files.

Tried one that I found off of google and now my anti-virus is going to work. Not sure how many trusted ones there are but the one I tried gave me adware

There's a handful of decent ones that work as plugins for firefox. I'm pretty sure all the firefox addons have to get approved by mozilla as opposed to random guy on the internet saying install this, it's safe, I promise.

Why don't you just email the video owner that you want a copy of the video?
Or, if you Google your basic request, the first response will tell you how circumvent YouTube's lack of downloading. The lack of actual information people are giving is a pretty good indicator that what you're asking for, for most instances, isn't allowed.

I Got them from the actual cache, it is tricky using Internet explorer because it likes to bury on a maze of hidden directories, not visible for the average user.
On Mozilla Firefox is easier, just empty your cache, start playing the video, you'll see a file growing, that's your video, rename it to FLV. and you are ready.

not specifically for itunes, but this will let you save either the video or MP3/audio, or both...

I use Youtube Downloader

Just be careful when you install the program... It try to add a toolbar and change your default search... otherwise it is pretty clean and easy to use.
