Ok after some rough math when dad was my age we were cruising around in either this:

      Or this:

That's me at the back looking like a goof
CSH, the red sedan was the last 6 seat Ford Falcon built before the major refresh. Amusingly it was actually built AFTER the new model production had started and only days before the new model was actually officially released. The reason was as it was a 6 seat sedan it was a special order and for some strange reason Ford decided to send it down the line mixed in with the new model.

I was in a van just like this only grey and white. Dad got it from an auction at his work. Full window like this too, so it wasn't a Pedobear Van....

Dad had one of these....only silver.

      And Mom had

x2, I'm pretty sure he wasn't even thinking about me at that age but, dad would have been driving a sixty-something impala SS. He crashed it when he was 19

My dad owned an Oldsmobile Delta 77. The thing was a tank and he used it to tow our camper and boat.

This is me in the actual car:

My dad was just getting out of the air cooled beetle phase then(they were getting harder to find with no rust then).
I think we would have been on our first Mk1 Rabbit. Probably around a 1976 or 77

"The Sebring is an extraordinary car. Ugly to behold and hateful to drive, it is not cheap, elegant, comfortable, practical, prestigious, clever, economical, luxurious, well designed, well thought out or, if the rental car I drove in America this year is anything to go by, especially well made either." - Jeremy Clarkson

When my father was 60 I was 36. He was driving a new 735i and I was driving a new 750iL. I still have that car.

Dad had a '83 Ford Ranger 5 speed lifted 6" on 35" tires.
Extended cab with the 2 jumpseats.
I would "learn to drive" it later, I was 12, he was hammered, we were on the point in Cape Hatteras

Not this exact one, but this is very close, his was green:

      Mom had a volare wagon

Which died on the road with my brother and I in it at ages 2 and 5, so we got a used Aerostar

The short one, not the longer somehow uglier one

Well im 17. So my dad would be rolling around in this:

Not this exact one but very close. old cop car his dad surprised him with. The speedo went to 160 like it could ever get there. Called it the big white whale. Could sit in the back seat and reach all the way forward and not reach the front seat. don't make them like they use to!

Nearly all of them died at inappropriate times, usually not too long after they were built!

Sadly, he didn't live to be my age, but this is what he was driving when he was a year younger than me.

He was 31 in '83, so he was driving an'80 Ford Fairmont wagon. Sometimes I wish I could find a clean one (pretty much impossible) and put a 5.0 in it, as well as other Mustang parts.

When my dad was my age I had a sweet ride: the 1979 Cozy Coupe. It was easily the most reliable car I ever owned but man was it prone to rollover!

I don't know much about my dad at all. I was raised by my grandparents, so when my grandfather was my age(28) he was driving a:

      '53 plymouth cranbrook http://www.google.com/search?num=10&....1._NYqjK8D0_s
(sorry, it takes a long time for me to load pics on my comp)

Last year for the '50-'53 cranbrook. I was the first and only car he ever bought new. It was mostly mercurys after that(his current car is a '00 sable). The cranbrook, which he describes as having been a very reliable commuter, was t-boned and totalled.

My dad was 47 in 1973. We had a 1973 Ford Country Squire (in light blue):
