most all the ebay downpipes i've seen come with a reducer section that bolts to the stock catback. most are 3" and reduce to 2.25", but some are 2.5" and reduce to 2.25

I'm terribly sorry for the noob post.
I've been searching for an eBay downpipe for my Gli. It seems these all have a 2" outlet and the stock GLI piping is 2.25. I've heard of people doing this no problem.
So what's the secret? Does it just work? Or is a reducer usually needed?
Sorry again, I'm kind of suffering from a brain fart.![]()
