just got a new clutch cable installed a few days ago, drove fine for a few days, today as i set off from a red light in first, when i took my foot off the clutch the car bogged out, i pushed the clutch back down to the floor and the rpms went back to normal, i was able to get my car into the nearest parking lot but i had to ride the clutch to do so, car still goes into all gears with the clutch depressed, but when letting off the clutch completely the car wants to stall. any ideas? like i said was driving fine until this happened, my clutch wasn't slipping, and had no previous signs of a problem. only thing that has changed was getting the clutch cable replaced. ANY HELP APPRECIATED, thank you guys!
Idles just fine, no fuel pump whine, although when you start it up and its cold out you get some vibration from the rear of the car. and yes it will idle in neutral, this is why im so confused. Could it be that the clutch cable is misadjusted?
Yes that could be the one reason, is that the Clutch isn't fully engaged when you depress the pedal.
I haven't had a clutch in a few years, but when I would replace the cables, or install a new clutch I would do the adjustments similar to this.
Replace the cable and have the adjuster all the way to the short length.
Then with the cable pulled tight to the pedal that is the pedal is fully up. I would take the adjuster and tighten it or lengthen it so that the arm moved very slightly.
Grounds, Grounds, Grounds Replace them things.
Divorces, Great Coffee, and Electrics, all start with GOOD Grounds. Where are my grounds ?
