i did few more mods installed
i used my old piano door trim with led
i wrapped them with brushed aluminium vinyl and they came out pretty good
i could not get into rear door module on 2013
i did it on my old 2010

pin layout on 2013 is little different from 2010
pin 4(+) and 17(-) should be for ambient lights but they are ran to lights on switches (door lock and window switches)
lights on switched were ran from pin 10 on 2010
so i had to jumped the wires from pin 4 and 17 to leds on trims and door handles
the difference i noticed is that leds stay on when even dimming all the way down
before, dimming half way turned them off but all lights on switches were still on

also for the door warning lights, i could not make them working since i can not connect to the module at all
so i checked the diagram usaf-lt-g posted (thank you)
and i found pin 9(+) and pin 12(-) for these door warning lights
only difference was pin 12(-) is the trigger when door is opened

worst thing could happen is draining battery when leaving rear door open all night
i think door lights should be turned off after certain time
i am sure on this i need to check

Nice work! did you put the door warning lights on the rear door only? also, can you post the link to the diagram you spoke about?

i did rear doors last night and i will do front sometime this week
front doors are easier i had to cut holes for door warning lights on rear door panel
on front door panel they are already cut

and this is the diagram from another thread

Thanks. I don't think I understand the diagram though. Which pin did you use to power the lamps? Also any idea if this will work for 2012 sport?

What are you trying to do?
Ambient loght? Or door warning light?
Basically they have all same connectors for all cc's 2009-2013
Just few different modules and pin layouts

Well theoretically, all of the above but for the ambient lighting I would need the appropriate dash inserts and door pannels which are cost prohibitive so door warning lights are the place I'm starting from.

I did both mods on 2010 and 2013 they are little different but doable
I am not sure which side that 2012 will fit in
Connect vagcom and try to read any rear door module (left or right)
If you can open follow pre 2012 pins
If not , follow my pins

I dont have VAGCOM yet so i'll have to wait a bit on that. but can i ask where you bought your lights from and for how much? also, are there any additional things you needed to procure? thanks for the help.
