Alright bear with me on this...

So starting maybe two weeks ago my car randomly stalled while I was at a red light. I had to push it to a gas station where it started about 15min later. Immediately after it stalled, I would turn the key, you could hear it turning, but it didnt start.

The only thing that helped was waiting... Eventually it started up and ran fine.

The next day I took it down to the shop (long story short) he said my ignition coil was bad. Replaced it with a new coil. Car ran fine for a day. Next day it stalled again. So then I replaced the spark plugs and plug wires (all brand new parts), & it still stalls!!

I have a feeling this has something to do with the fuel... Maybe something that is stopping the flow? (also I replaced the fuel filter btw).

I dont know what to do.

Could be the fuel filter being clogged up. How new is the Fuel Filter?

Check for vacuum leaks up front, and also check your spark plug gaps.

Sounds like the very popular crank sensor syndrome

crank sensor.....won't let the car restart until it's cold again.

not very expensive, just a btch to get to. Swap in a new one.

Just did a quick search and the car shouldnt start at all with a bad crank sensor.. The car starts just fine, it's just after it stalls I have to wait a while for it to start up.

Also, the car runs perfectly otherwise. No idle problems, lack of power, etc.

Cars with a bad crank sensor WILL start. Most times when they go bad the car starts and when it gets to operating temp it dies. Once it cools down it will again start. Thats what is wrong with ur car. I'm about 99.9% sure

Well I just started the car and got it up to running temp... Stalled. The car did the same thing and wouldn't turn over. I waited 15min and it started fine, it was running about 20deg cooler when it started. And once it got to running temp it died again...

Just got the jetta back from the shop and after they fixed my ecu (unrelated problem), they scanned it and found it was the crank sensor. So I got that fixed and im back on the road

may be a long shot but on 4 separate Mk3s (3 ABA & 1 VR6) I got stalling issues and each and every single time it was the vacuum hose elbow that plugs in below the master cylinder. The plastic become brittle and breaks. A little duct tape will work as a temporary solution. If that is not it then a VAGCOM scan will be a lot more helpful for ya.
