Thread: On a slump.. 4 door vs. 2 door GOLF

  1. 10-14-2012 02:24 AM #1
    hey,

just in a slump. are 4 door golfs just as good as 2 door golfs?

question sounds utterly stupid, however, whenever i think of a 4 door golf i think of a show car and when i think of a 2 door, i think of a vr6 or something more for racing and speed.

both can be showcars, sure, obviously, but what you guys think?

i might be getting a 4 door, and i'd love to have it for looks but everyone around here in my neighbor hood are like 4 door mk3? ... BLAH

what you guys think, should i just go ahead and get a 4 door then get a swap?

have no idea how much swaps are, (vr6 gti swap into a 4 door 2.0)

    thanks everyone

    please no trolling

Most people here will say 4 doors for more whores. Or something along that line. I don't post much but I drive 4 doors due to having a baby. My real love is with 2 doors though, especially if they have vrs.

Not sure. I'd assume it's whatever you want.

Quit listening to everyone else. It's your money, time and effort that you're spending, and you can have just as much pride in a nicely done 4dr as a 2dr. Everything's the same in front of the B post, so drop a VR in that bad boy and make it a sleeper if you want. At the end of the day it's still something you did yourself, so go where your imagination leads you.

Boxers and briefs, dude. Personal preference, and nobody's opinion will matter.

I like my four door. The doors on two doors just seem too long and heavy (i.e. sag like crazy).

The 4 door style provides a little bit of the "sleeper" look.

4 door with a 20v sounds real nice right now

Yeah that sounds utterly stupid. You do know the GOlf VR6 in Europe came as a 4 door? It's really about how much usefulness you need from the backseat.

Everyone has a necessity for the backseat... If you know what I mean...

But really I love my 4 door. But I would love a 2 door. Flip a coin?

It's pretty simple equation= You buy what you like. I went and looked at a white 98 GTI with leftover DE parts tonight in VT, but of course the rust was to much to contend with. They are both great IMO.
