Thread: Battery Replacement/Aux Radio Input Question

  1. 10-14-2012 11:40 AM #1
Hey guys, new member here. I recently replaced the battery in my 2008 Jetta SE and suddenly my aux input in my glove compartment is not working.

I have a diagnostic tool that i bought from ECSTuning.com and I was hoping somebody could give me some direction on how to use it to get my Aux input working again.

Here is a picture of the tool I have. I do not know if this is the VAG-COM tool, hopefully it is and I can use it to fix my issue.

    Thank you,

    hogger

That is not a VCDS (VAG-COM) and I don't know what is supposed to be but I'd bet it can't do any more than scan and clear basic codes. VCDS is sold only by Ross-Tech and is the only dealer-class tool for VWs. There are other sevice level tools but they can not do what VCDS does in full.

You have to change the coding in the radio's controller. This is a common problem with the Premium 7 radio. I have no idea whether or not this scan tool can do what you need to do. I would suggest that you find someone with VCDS. This is the VCDS support forum, not the generic VW OBDII scanner forum. For support for this tool, talk to the maker or seller of this tool. A search here will give you a little more info, but this is the wrong place to go for support for this scan tool.

    Have Fun!
