Initial thought is that it looks a bit softer than the current model, and I'm not sure I like that.

E250 ? Oh to dream that a US MB could compete on fuel efficiency!
Not an enthusiast.

Going to need to see this in person before. Can't tell if I like this or not. Definitely don't like the tailpipes. This car doesn't look very authoritative in the pictures.

Mmmm, chocolate . . .
Nice to see brown making a comeback as a color choice.

While I'll admit I didn't like the new E class when it came out, I've grown to like it. So maybe the same will happen with this new one, but.......I have to say I much prefer the current to this new style. Looks like a step back to me.
#9
The back looks fine, but the front doesn't go with the chiseled styling look of the current car.
I think I like the previous one better.![]()

If they would finally decontent the car a little, it'd be perfect!

Looks like a step backwards to me.

The front of the wagon looks the cleanest - I like it. The poo colored sedan looks more fussy and awkward. I can't see much difference besides the little spears in the air inlets, but it makes a big difference.

I like it, especially getting rid of that weird character line over the rear wheel arch. Also, am I the only one comforted by the numerous rows of buttons on the center stack? It's like 1986 all over again, so retro!![]()

yes, but most of them will come to the dealer optioned as part of a package most likely
with the old ones that had an actual gear selector for the trans you could go up and down a gear, but with the column ones, you need extra paddles for that. but the 7g-tronic isnt as fast shifting manually to really enjoy it
if you want a base base model you usually have to do some searching, or order one
also, the us is going to get a different front bumper, no?
#19
I'll agree that the sedan's front end is more appealing, but I do quite like both packages.
I think they're nicer looking than BMW's coming models (though those that I've seen are mostly renderings; can't make is de facto decision based on those).

You can't search for a base model, as there isn't one.
I'd like one without a sunroof and the paddles...maybe no alloys, either.
so much stuff used to be options, but is now standard...I just don't like that.

Looks like one of their concept cars. I like it.

Tha giant chrome grille is awful. The uncamo'd spy images were much mroe appealing; likely due to the angle the pics were taken from.
Disappointed (for now)
#23
The redesign was tasked with taking away all its iconic/interesting styling elements and making it look like a Hyundai. Blah.
#24
The interior looks exactly the same. It's a shame that they didn't get with the times and upgrade the screen to a larger size. I'll have to wait and see it in person before I decide on the exterior, but I hated the current model when the first images came out, but now really like it.
#25
I like it okay, but I wish they'd get rid of the column shifter and bring back a standard console one. Why oh why do German/European (MB, BMW, Jag) carmakers need to muck around with a PNDL console shifter that works for everyone else???

Why? It's not like the standard E-class is a sporting machine. I agree with their choice of moving it to the column. It frees up room. They use the console shift in their cars that have a hint of sportiness (E-class coupe, c-class coupe/sedan) and their hardcore models (AMG).
#29
I was never a fan of the current E-Class. This update is an improvement, in my humble opinion, but I would still choose a 5, A6, or even GS over this. I look forward to when this is completely redesigned in a few years.
#30
Side profile, rear, and interior don't look too much different from the current model. The front end (which is the best angle of the current model) looks terrible on the 2014 model IMO. Reminds me a little of the front end of the Volvo S60.

Oh, I like it, I'll take a wagon please.
I'll take my Koenigsegg Agera R anyway they want to give it to me. It can be pink, covered in 'Hello Kitto' livery and have a plate that reads 'I SUCK IT" and I'd still drive it with pride....
