This event is a "Grand Opening" for the VW show season.

When is it?
This event will be held on
Saturday, April 6th 2013 at Sherwood Island State Park from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Vendor setup starts at 10:00AM but no earlier, there is a Walk-a-thon scheduled from 7:00AM to 10:00AM at the park.


How much?
$5 per person entrance fee
Vendors - we have no separate vendor fee - just the $5 per person entrance fee.


Where is it?

It is extremely easy to get to the park:
1. Get to I-95
2. Get off exit 18
3. If Northbound take a right, if Southbound take a left
4. Drive straight, but stop before you hit the ocean


How should I behave?
This is a laid back show, but there are a few simple rules to ensure we can keep this show going:

• No alcohol is allowed at the park. Sorry!
• No hooning
• Obey posted speed limit. There's a lot of kids/dogs/geese/animals/DEP officers patrolling/etc.

We all know what not to do...


*****OMFG IMPORTANT*****
If you have a tent, make sure you have WEIGHTS AND STAKES to prevent the tent from parachuting all over the show. It is right on the ocean and is very WINDY.


Police Alert!
There were a few "issues" last year that drew significant police attention. They were not happy. Basically, I have to notify the Westport PD that this event is happening, so THEY WILL BE LOOKING FOR DOUCHEBAGS. Apparently, last year someone heading to the show cut off the Chief of Police for Westport while he was off duty driving with his family. He was not amused. There were also State Police reports from all over New England about the "packs of VW's headed to Westport". Just be aware that all the police in CT are angry and watching you....



Club and Vendor setup starts at 10:00AM EST but no earlier, there is a Walk-a-thon scheduled from 7:00AM to 10:00AM at the park.

We do not mark off reserved space, it's up to each individual's group to arrive early enough to claim an area.

Change for 2013: We are running out of space at our location, so try to keep your booth area as compact as you comfortably can. Our goal size is 10x20, but that is just a goal - don't worry about taking more space if you really need it.

Last year we had 4000 people/1200 cars

We will also have a food vendor again this year, but they will have 2 stations instead of 1 so the line won't be forever long. The issue is, we keep gaining in size by way more than anyone expects, so the food vendor isn't as prepared. They had to leave to get more food 4 times last year

Anyway that you guys can control the amount of non euro coming into the show? It was borderline ridiculous how many non euros showed up last year. And I have no desire to see that at this show.

Unfortunately no, for several reasons:

1. The park will not allow us to deny access to anyone - it's still a public park. It's a government thing and they allow us to hold this ridiculously huge show there, so I'm not going to contest that rule.
2. Some Euro fans have non-euro's for a daily. Even I was looking at Jeeps for a winter car. I still went for an A4 Quattro, but I at least considered a non-euro.
3. The spirit of the show is laid back - anyone and everyone is welcome, as long as you like European cars or at least understand that it's a Euro show. No one has caused any issues in the past, and if you dislike non-euro's, just point and laugh and walk on by and look at the rest of the 1000 Euro cars.

Space in the club area is first come, first serve. Club/vendor setup is earlier than the show starts, and this year we will have to restrict how much space is giving out as we reached maximum capacity of the main parking area last year.
