Most people are busy planning what vacations they'll take this year, others are getting their finances in order, but me, I'm planning out my automotive conquests for 2013. I'm sure I'm not the only one on this forum with these thoughts. So what are your car related goas for the year?
Here are mine:
- Get the MG to Carlisle for the import show
- do 1 HPDE event
- get new suspension and wheels for the S4
- Sell the ///M
///M3 - The dream is on!

Get a couple hpde events under the belt. If I end up sticking with the BRZ, get a supercharger and upgraded brakes. If not, pick up my first Porsche, preferably a CPO Cayman S or maybe 911 depending on if the prices keep falling.

I was going to overhaul the front suspension/tires and trans in the Camaro this year. Due to an incident with icicles, I may have to hold off on the T56 for another season.![]()

Go an entire calendar year without either acquiring or selling a vehicle. I cannot remember the last year that happened.

Restrain myself from buying a car until The new GTi comes out.

My goal is to complete my supercharger project and try to do more than a couple autocross events.

Replace my driver side fender, driver's door, and front bumper. Attempt paint correction with a buffer. Fix the sticky trim in my Jetta, install my radio, and troubleshoot the finicky door lock modules.
I'm currently aiming to get an internship next summer somewhere on the west coast. My goal is to drive out there and see the country; I've never been west of Chicago.

Personally, I'd like to do a little more of my own maintenance work on my own car (Civic), make the most of my Summit Point Kart membership, and get some hail damage taken care of.
I got "Buy the wife a new car" out of the way so my goals this year are a lot less lofty. I want to do HPDE as well but it's not prudent at this time...hence the Karting membership.
Professionally, it's going to be hard to top a year where I got to drive an R8 cab, 911 S, M6, AMG CLS, Panamera GTS, FR-S, Golf R, and a GTR. So I hope that I'll get to attend more press events or that our YT channel gets bought by Discovery or something.![]()

Hopefully finish following things
-16v carbs into mk1 Cabby
-turbo the ABA caddy, maybe paint.
-EU bumpers on Golf
If my calculations are correct it should all cost me 2-3k. Sell/trade stuff to keep out of pocket cost down.
Plan on not selling/buying any cars this yet, and finish project at hand.

Passat -> Golf R but I also want to keep the Frontier w/o having to downgrade.

Finish dressing out the 1775 engine and get the big 6-volt flywheel for it. Finish and install into the Beetle. (I want to preserve the original engine, it's getting soft and I want it to live) also add my EMPI camber compensator to go with the KYB gas shocks and radial tires. It would be just about perfect with that and some cosmetic restoration I want to finish.
Then there's the other project that I'll make a thread about when I actually get something interesting to write about. It should be a big (ish) year if I can get the time to do what I want.![]()

I did one track day last year with my essentially stock Sonic, next year I plan to have my car track ready (tires, brakes, suspension) and hit up the track as much as I can and just have fun! Maybe try a few different tracks too.

1) Upgrade the Turbo for the TDI Swap
2) Finish said Corrado TDI swap to 100% completion including AC without breaking the bank by June, drive it to TDIfest/all summer
3) Average 1k mi/month on the 2013 Passat so its worth making payments on all summer
4) Part out the spare '98 TDI I have and get all of the extra parts out of my garage from the swap
I'd also like to do something besides routine maintenance to the Caddy (paint, TDI swap, etc) and drive it more often, but I doubt I'll have time to make that happen.

-Keep it salty so my Miata doesn't have to be
Miata:
-Buy a helmet
-Do at least an autox or 2 per month with the local club
-Buy and mount new tires on my OEM+ wheels
-Scrounge up enough money for some upgraded suspension
-Install the random parts I have laying around (paint valve cover and install, rear subframe brace, new window guides)
-Enjoy the hell out of it
