Heres the deal when listening to the radio or pandora on my phone through the aux input I get a ton of static and interferance, when I play a cd the radio sounds perfect. I have a 2011 s with the stock radio/speakers and have never tampered with the audio system. Anyone have any clue how to solve this? Problem started maybe 2-3 days ago.

Is it static or just not very clear also is it all the time or only between tracks?

You will get noise from the alternator in between tracks. Check the box in settings of pandora for high quality audio.

My brother's jetta does this only when charging his phone at the same time as playing via Aux. It does it only between tracks when there is silence, a high pitched whine that changes with RPM levels. It is a ground loop I believe. The power wires from the 12v socket are too close and interfering with the Aux connection. Is your S the same where both are next to each other on the front? My SEL didn't do this because the RNS-315 has the Aux built in to the headunit. And my golf doesn't do it because the Aux is by the armrest and not in the front by the 12v plug

Yeah it does it all the time. I was thinking about adding a ferrite but I dont know if that would help.

If that is the case then you may have a faulty antenna or radio.

Put your phone on airplane mode and see if it goes away.
