This special Lotus Evora S was ordered by Bob Lutz (Formally of GM/Lotus's board of advisers) As part of his deal with Lotus he received a Lotus to drive, but it has since been settled that Mr. Lutz will no longer be apart of Lotus. It is now sitting on our showroom! This is a similar scheme as what was done in 2011 with the 4 Heritage Edition cars.

" As part of his deal with Lotus he received a Lotus to drive, but it has since been settled that Mr. Lutz will no longer be apart of Lotus."

****ty grammar is starting to give me little fits.

OK, ok. I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers but I find the whole thing to be a bit too garish for my tastes. I'd like the performance...without all the performance (visual).

The Evora's price is pushing 911 territory and the 911 is a much more refined product. And for a lot less you can get the new Cayman soon, so it's really a no-brainer.

Agreed that the interior is nothing special, but you didn't enjoy driving it?

AFAIK, almost all Evoras new and "used" have been sold off for deep discounts. I don't think this one's history adds much value if any to it. Sarasota Lotus, just post the price already.

The 911 starts at <$85k. I guess 10k buys you at least some options already. They both have 350 hp, so why would I buy a Lotus instead again...?

No thank you---not for that price. I'd rather have the upcoming 981 Cayman S, which I saw at the Philly autoshow. I like the Evora, but not for anywhere near $95k. There are too many other cars I'd rather own (new or used) for the same or less money.

But, it doesn't actually cost $95k. They have marked down almost 25% from their MSRP. If you actually walk into a dealership, you can negotiate some very good deals on Evora's right now.

This. Take Lutz's car, give it an Ardent Red exterior, same interior and wheels, and you have something that's on my Lotus showroom now, and if there is a shred of profit in the deal, it's yours, for nowhere close to $95k.

For reference, 2010's were leaving in the lot in the high $50k range, which is a great price point for that amount of car.

I'd buy it if it was LOL Lutz Pear Green

It's not selling for $95k, that was the MSRP when it was new...

I bet that guy's had so many cars that there's a Lutzmobile for sale at nearly any given time...

The gearbox has roll over noise at idle, and at low rpm when you're lugging it. They could have dampened it out with a dual mass flywheel, or any of the other tricks, but they wanted the car to drive the way it did.

You're entitled to your opinion, but to say you didn't enjoy it makes me . Aside from it having fit and finish issues that most boutique cars do, they're wonderful cars, and a blast to drive fast.

I've tracked an S at Infineon, and an NA one at Laguna, and spend countless hours on back roads around Monterey, the Marin headlands, the wine country, and the Santa Cruz mountains in them. If they're "meh" to drive, you need to speed up some.

That color combo is just awful. The green and yellow isn't great, but with the red stitching and brakes thrown in it's almost vomit inducing.

It's also been made clear that these never sold for MSRP and neither will this one.

You can get used ones for like $60k.

At that price I can't fathom buying anything else. This is the prettiest car at any price in the last decade as far as I'm concerned.

I don't like the stripe on this car, but the BRG is exquisite.
