    Thread: Snow Day

    1. 02-09-2013 10:09 AM #1
Just wanted to say that with the record snow dump over the past 36 hours, I finally had a chance to see what a Tiguan+4motion+good snows would do. It is an understatement to say I was impressed - not as good as my old 4x4 Nissan pathfinder, but darned close. I helped at least 4 people who were stuck on my street alone, while the Tiguan didn't even notice! Of course stopping is always a problem, but getting moving, even on hills that had other cars sliding backwards, was a piece of cake.

      Good stuff.

Our '09 Tiguan S that we had for only 3 weeks didn't fair was well as we though it would with FWD and we are experienced drivers in the puffy white stuff. The no name snow tires that it came with has alot to do with the results, there is more than enough wheel spin and locking up at low speed. It the Tig had a standard hand brake it would be balls of fun in the snow but sadly no.
