Moon roof issue.

So I have a 2007 jetta. I think it's a moon roof. Slides back into roof. It also pops up. We'll all of the sudden mine won't go back. It drops down starts sliding back and looks like it cocks a little. Then it stops. Moves maybe a total of a half inch back. I live in ny. Last night was cold. So I figured maybe froze. Today it hitt 50 degrees still it won't go back. Any ideas? It pops up still. Just back is a no go.

Sounds like something got stuck in the track, or it's bent.

I am wondering if that manual 4mm Allen bolt for closing the roof would work to open it. Then I might be able to grease the track.

I'd bring it to the dealer. They should be able to diagnose it quickly. Depending on the issue, go from there. If you do try moving it manually, don't force it.
