Fooling around with my W12 today and thought I'd try some 20s on it.

      What do you think?

      MG,

Does the 20s effect your ride or handling in anyway. I have 18" on my 2005 V8 and I was thinking of moving up to 20s but I'm worried about the effect on the ride and handling of car with low profile tires.

      Thanks

      Andre

      Yes it has an effect.

You feel more of the road at that's inevitable as you've reduced the side wall dramatically

The Phaeton copes better with this than other cars that I've driven due to its air suspension

Just to help out with all of the questions I'm getting, the wheels are Range Rover 20s with 255/35/20 tyres and bolted on with wheel adaptors.

Kinda wish I'd driven the car around a bit longer now

bet yougot the idea from that golf with landie wheels in fast car or max power or whatever it was months ago

how much were the adaptors and where did you buy them from? im half thinking of changing up to larger wheels on mine at some stage and if adaptors arent too expensive then it may work out cheaper to use adaptors and buy some random wheels than to buy some VW fitment wheels.

The factory had a slightly lowered GP3 with 20" wheels when I visited in December:

the ride is nice, I enjoy the better feedback from the road. You feel even small uneven spots from the road in the steering wheel.

oooh.. i want the 20's off that GP3 for my 04

wonder how long it is before someone decided to try and facelift the pre-facelift P. front end may be do-able fairly handy if you got most of the front clip off a crashed facelift model.. probably just a matter of fitting facelift wings(fenders), hood, front crossmember, lights/grill and bumper.

assuming lights would be all plug and play that is.. rear end could be more tricky to facelift if the rear 1/4's are a different shape with the newer tail lights though. front could well be a simple enough bolt off/bolt on swap.
