My brother has a 2001 wolfsburg jetta and the bracket the tensioner threads into is stripped. I cant seem to find and information on how and if this bracket is removed and or replaced. Can anyone shed some light onto this.

the belt tensioner for serp is held on by 3 bolts right above the alternator.

In this picture it's the 3 bolts to the very top left.

Now you have a couple different methods to fix this.

      1) you can helicoil those 2 holes
      2) you can buy a new bracket where the bolts go to. This bracket holds the a/c unit, alternator, and i think power steering.

Here is the bracket part number 06A 903 143 P
