I recently got a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8f lense and have been experimenting with it.. i like the dramatic effect it gives the image when taken at certain angles. Id say its a pretty fun lense, a little on the heavy side and tricky when adjusting to low light ... but overall the lense is fun to use!

      few pics

OP, a good rule of thumb when shooting with a wide angle is to get as close to the subject as possible.

I do a lot of Real Estate photography at 10mm on a DX sensor but it's nothing worth posting. No one wants to see the boring livingroom of a house for sale. haha.

I just got the same lens, my first wide angle, I don't really get out to use it as much as I would like but I got a little practice in a few weeks ago.

I have a Canon 10-22mm, but since the switch to full-frame the widest I've got is a 24mm prime. Which, for the most part, has filled my wide-angle needs. It's probably my most-used lens; I shoot all sorts of things with it.

Oh how I miss LR and the big VW meets we used to have there (and the pines too) back in the late 90's, early 00's.

I have the Canon 14mm for my 5D3, I personally like for wheel, engine bay, and interior shots.

I have the Tokina 11-16 as well, and I must say, I thought the 50mm 1.4 was fun and i am sooo in love with it. But the more I use this lens.... it's quickly becoming my favorite

I love wide angle shooting - some of my favorite lenses are my 10-24mm on my DSLR and my 12mm on my mirrorless. Here are a few wide angles:

Earlier this summer, I got a Rokinon 14mm/f2.8. It's much wider than anything else I've got and I'm still learning how best to use it. Had some decent luck at car show over the Labor Day weekend, I think.

Are you shooting with a full frame? wondering how you get such a shallow depth of field with such a wide angle, usually EVERYTHING is in focus....

Yeah, a Canon 5D2. Both lenses represented in my above photos, the Rokinon 14/2.8 and the Canon 24/1.4, were shot wide open, and in the case of the Rokinon, made very close to the subject to emphasize the shallow DOF.
