Robert: Why do you keep referring to this car as a B7? Is that how you search for parts in your VWoA computer? I would think that requests for B7 parts would complicate any searching, since all our NA cars are NMS, not B7.
      Just curious.

      It's a force of habit....

While I know it is not the same as the European B7, it is technically the 7th iteration of the Passat which is a B class chassis.

If you want to get technical, the European B7 is more of a B6.5 than a whole new vehicle same as the B5.5 was just a refreshed B5

Also, Vortex has labeled the forum as e B7 Passat discussion forum, so most everyone who comes here will identify it as such.

Rather than try to correct the everyone, it is easier to go with the flow.

As far as the parts catalog, it is broken down by model, then year. Chassis designations are not mentioned in ETKA.

Thanks for the very clear reply, Robert.

So, if we enthusiasts limit our searching to domestic suppliers of parts, no need to specify NMS over B7? However, if we're searching internationally for aftermarket parts (mud flaps, fog lights, HID headlights, etc.) we need to know the difference, right?

      That is correct.

The only time you should have to specify NMS over B7 would be when purchasing international parts.

HELLO! I'm buying a 2012 passat in a few weeks and I want to add the fog lights. I see you guys see the complete kit. I'm definitely going to give you a call and order the set. However I see that your switch is 92 bucks. I've been seeing them on ebay for around 18-32 bucks. Are those switches compatible with your kit??

Neither one of those switches are compatible. The electrical connector is much too large.

One word of caution on eBay switches is regarding Chinese switches. There has been an influx of aftermarket and Chinese sourced electrical components not being very trustworthy.

My recommendation - stick with OEM. I've learned from experience, and many wasted dollars, that sometimes you really do get what you pay for. I had an aftermarket euro switch - broke within a day or two. Got a replacement, same story. I have OEM now - and not a problem.

      Just my two cents.

Thanks for the speedy reply! But okay, I can understand that. I'll go with the OEM switch then. Does anyone have any idea about the LED tail lights? Haven't been able to find those either. Its tough customizing this vehicle I see.

      1) do you know of any images of the European, and Non-European switch's?
      2) Is there a functionality difference between those European, and Non-European switch's?
      3) Can you please email me the instructions? I am leaving on a business trip and would really like to read them on the plane.

Once I get those installed we can talk about the body kit/rear lip I'll be adding

How much is the wiring harness? Will that work on 2014 Passat TDI?

      Jax,

Sorry for the delay. As you know Vortex has been having some DNS issues and I have been unable to log in and answer customer questions. But it looks like they got it resolved now.

The harness is part number 561-052-186-A.

List price on it is $140.00, My price is $112.00

As far as the 2014 passat, it should work no problem.
