Never heard of it being that expensive. You could probably wait there if you wanted to, I would recommend catching a ride though as it does take a while to do, thats even if they start it as soon as you get there.

sounds good...thanks for the info guys

    10. 12-24-2002 11:59 PM #10
when i got mine done it took 4 hours

    11. 12-25-2002 12:07 AM #11
Ok, here's the deal guys, I got mine done, all 5 windows at 35% tint, and I paid $250US and that was a deal.
The reason some of you have paid 150 or so is because the tint place didn't remove the windows to tint them.
The right way is to remove all door windows, and actually bake the tint on, and that process costs a lot more.
I paid 250 and got a life time warranty, and IMHO, 35% all around looks way cleaner than any other % or combo.
Also, mine took about 6-8 hours because it's a pita to remove and replace the windows, and reseal all the windows.

    24. 12-25-2002 12:59 AM #24
160 here. id rather not deal witht hem taking out the windows and baking them. just as long as the guy doing it isnt baked, were good.
not like they dont know how to do it

    25. 12-25-2002 12:59 AM #25
I paid $150, lifetime warratny, and it is Llumar 35%. I have heard of taking the windows out, but there is really no need...if you have it done by someone who just does tinting, they will look perfect and last forever...I like tint on a Jetta....on a Golf I would usually say no. The Jetta is more of a luxury car thing, while a Golf tends to be more race car-ish iin my book.....

I like to look "ghetto"....go ghetto or go home....

The taking the windows out is a new thing to me, never heard of it, they put my tint with the windows still on the car.....

maybe its easier.....cuz they suck and have no skills. j/k

my 35% tint was going to be $175, then I opted for the upgrade to the 3M film and a full lifetime warranty so it was $205. All the places that did it around here for cheaper than that didnt use 3M film and wouldnt tell me what company they did use.

    31. 12-25-2002 01:56 AM #31
      $100 for 5%

    32. 12-25-2002 06:12 AM #32
