whats the fastest vr6 out there????

I know there was a VR6 Corrado RWD they were testing and had it go 7.6...they were expecting this car to do low 7's or high 6's when they were done tuning it(And no it wasn't Rolo's Corrado). This was an older article from Puerto Rican drag racing. Have to look for it...

It wasn't a corrado... it what a toyota.. with a 16v vw motor and it was RWD....

Fastest FWD VW's are Kevin Black 10.05 @ 142 and Marco from PR 10.15 and Tom Chrisonensis 10.20 @ 135

well 1/2 the guys that tim listed are running 4 cylinder vw motors. he said vr6 in the original post. so all of you are morons. SEMs turbo vr6 race car @ 10.2, turbo lou and steve both go 10.8 and are both street cars, then i dont know where the list goes after that.

Thats El Gato you're talking about with the 16V. My friend had the article when he came from PR of all the cars that were suppose to come out. That Corrado was RWD VR6 that was suppose to be in the low 7's or high 6's...I'm still trying to find that article. Its pretty old so its taking me awhile.

My cousin might know...he's not really into like I am but the Corrado was suppose to come out and it had ran like a 7.6 on a practice run but they weren't really done with it. But to known date from what I've seened its SEM

Just a random thought here. I wish that more people from other forums would read this thread. There appears to be many people, especially in the Car Lounge and Corrado forum that seem to think VR6 VW's can't get much faster than 13's.

Amen to that... YOu should see all the poop I still get when I tell people the car went 13.79 with stock cams, no head work, stock trans/diff/clutch/flywheel, street tires.

People need to dig thier heads out of thier butt and these forums and actualy go to a track/event when the "drivers" are running thier VW's.

You know what I mean? You see there is no way I should beat a SC car w/ trans work... but I have and I still do, get my point?

You do Billy... you have the Fastest Purple oops Mullberry VR6....

The SEM car is a full out drag car lexan windows,wheelie bars, etc etc etc... they talked about hitting 9's this past season as i know they shead more weight with fiberglass front end but i guess ran into some tuning issues...

Then rolo's corrado ran on methanol...

The next 5 cars are all street cars... all from the nj/pa/md area

2003 should be an interesting year. I'm sure that the 10.2 record is going to fall. Where it happens, is yet to be seen.

This sort of thread just goes to show you that if you want a fast VR6 you can definitely get it, you just have to work at it. Which is something that most people around here really don't have the interest in doing. I always knew the VR6 cars could be made as fast as any of the asian cars that people think are God's gift to the 1/4mi. I look forward to reading about more record breaking runs in the future.

Just keep an eye out this year for the VR6's, I know of at least two that have done alot of work over the winter. So we should see some new really fast times once the cars are all up and running 100%....
