see you in April
I got to get my car ready now. Clutch, tires and pads. $$$$ but worth it again. Cant wait to chill with you all again. Wish it was for more than two days.
It seems more and more shenanigans happens each year.
My my first year:
2 speeding tickets and one wreck on the dragon.
My 2nd year:
3 speeding tickets and several people wrecking.
This year:
While we are all grown ass men, we should stress the importance of not driving like a complete dicksmooch on this amazing public road. Drivers should recognize their own skill level and not out drive themselves. For example - don't try to follow the guy in the twin turbo porche that teaches at a driving school in your nearly stock golf R.

I will be bringing my tool sets again to possibly assist with some unibrace installs between dragon runs.

P.S. I was immediately behind two wrecks and for the record, they were awesome. Well, not likely for the owners but they did not precipitate pile-ups and did add excitement, you must admit.
Some other tips:
come with good tires. The stock ones have lousy grip at extremes and they are very inconsistent.
Inspect your car and make sure it is in very good working order. This road is not nice to your suspension.
Ensure that you have a backup plan for car failure. Wouldn't want to be stuck in the boonies with no plan.
Most of us have gps - for those that rely on a phone, get an app that uses offline maps as there is CRAP CELL PHONE SERVICE.
I have a whole shopping list I need to take care of before this event.
The first time I took the road on the way to SOWO, it sure as hell was a blast but it's also quite challenging, thankfully with some twisty road experience it wasn't so bad, but it sure is much more thrilling than bear mountain!
Timing is still iffy on my end so I'll just take the hit and book my Fontana hotel around March. The RBQ is March so that's better.
