Thread: Farewell, John - John Neff leaving Autoblog

    1. 02-14-2014 03:04 PM #1
I am genuinely sorry to see him go. He was one of the few great ones left in the industry, in my opinion. In addition to being a great all around guy (He sold me my SHO), I am going to miss his contributions to Autoblog.

Good luck, John. Hope you don't go far.

      http://www.autoblog.com/2014/02/14/j...dbye-autoblog/

After nearly ten years as Editor-in-Chief of Autoblog, today is my last day. In that time, I built this site by writing 5,961 posts, attending dozens of auto shows, driving countless cars and leading the greatest team of people who will forever be my friends. But I have decided that now is my time to move on and leave the site's exciting future in the capable hands of friends and colleagues I leave behind.

What Autoblog is today I could never have dreamed back in 2004, but thanks to the efforts and talents of so many people both on this team and within AOL, it has become the biggest destination of auto news, reviews and show coverage for enthusiasts and the industry at large. It is my life's greatest achievement to date, but more than big traffic numbers, I'm so proud of these people – these writers, editors, developers and everyone involved who treat Autobloglike the very special thing it is, and give more of themselves for its success than I ever had to ask.

I now happily rejoin the legion of loyal daily Autoblog readers from whence I emerged all those years ago. My next endeavors, whatever they may be, await. To Autoblog, to AOL and to every reader who ever enjoyed this website, I simply say thanks.

Used to see him quite a bit at my old job... super nice dude. It was always fun sitting in those GM meetings with him talking about old Ford performance vehicles.

He was a SHO guy? Nice. Best of luck to him.

And I bought that green Gen 1 SHO Plus off of him when he was done with it:

Ah, I remember that article like it was posted on autoblog yesterday. Great piece; allot of excellent contrasts and a great intro into the 10' model. Made me miss my 93' and 98' SHO's that I parted with back in 05'.

That remains THE cleanest 1991 Plus I have ever seen.

      I miss it.

I wonder if he is leaving AOL to join VOX and start a new Auto website....
