Import Xpression and DCM7thGEN presents “The April Meet/BBQ”

Import Xpression with the help of DCM7thGEN is presenting a free BBQ at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, VA on April 19th, 2003 from Noon to 5 pm. The BBQ is sponsored by Import Xpression’s IMPORT SHOWCASE at the Dulles Expo Center on May 10th, 2003. This BBQ will be held rain or shine.

We welcome all car enthusiasts, domestic or import, to an afternoon of fun and free food. This event, in the past, has drawn over 200 cars of every make and model. There is ample parking for everyone.

Directions: Lake Fairfax Park may be reached by taking Beltway Exit 47A which is Route 7 or Leesburg Pike west to a left on Baron Cameron Avenue to the second left on Lake Fairfax Drive.
The BBQ will be at Shelter 1 in Lake Fairfax Park (the same place that it was last year).

If you plan on attending please indicate so and what kind of car you drive. This is so we can have an indication of food requirements and total turnout.

Actually, I'm torn on the issue. We sent a letter to the local (fairfax/reston) police about this situation last year. We told them that we would appreciate a police presence that was cooperative and there to prevent morons from ruining the experience for everyone but we DID NOT appreciate the fact that they harassed several drivers and used the event to pick out random rice violations.

I am torn on wether we should contact them again, because it may just alert them and they will again be a pain in the butt. It wasn't really that big of a problem last year, but it made a couple of us mad that they didn't help at all they were only there to fill their quotas.

yeah while im sure some people drove like a-holes and got what they had comming, i seem to recall the guy using a tape measure for ground clearence and other BS.

as bad as it may have been, id still say let them know. there were alot of kids in that park, id hate to see an accident of somesort, and just make sure everyone knows they will be there and to drive SLOW. AFAIK they didnt harass anyone that wasnt speeding, but i could be wrong.
