Thread: FS: Black Forest Industries' Project Diesel Punk 2012 Toffee Brown Jetta Diesel 6 Speed - NC

    1. 04-16-2014 12:58 PM #1
Wellll it's time for us to move to a new project as this one is as complete as we'd like it to be. We'd say the fact that it's being featured in next month's Performance VW magazine is a testament to that fact. So just to touch on a few of the major points- this thing obviously has the full GLI bodykit and to this day is the only one to our knowledge in toffee brown. That makes it nice and unique and obviously everything fits as it should. The paint match is flawless too. Body is in perfect shape with no issues. Other major points of interest, the rear axle beam has been narrowed by about 2" on either side to make room for more dish! Obviously the Miros on the car now are not taking the best advantage but theres a lot of room to work with should you decide to put your on wheel set on. We are running spacers at the moment to get the wheels flush. The BBS E88 are not for sale, and not included. Also another not so obvious point is the custom dual exhaust we made.

The majority of the modifications are covered here in the build thread though - http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ct-Diesel-Punk

      Engine:
      BFI Torque Arm Insert
      Engine: APR ECU Upgrade
Carbonio Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake (included with car but currently removed)
      Custom Dual Exhaust
      Custom Engine Cover

      Chassis:
      Avant Garde M310 18x8 19 x 9.5
Proprietary JOM Blue Line Coilover Kit
      Narrowed Rear Axle Beam
      Rear Camber Shims
      Front Camber Plates
      Beard Limiting Straps

      Outside:
Genuine VW GLI Front and Rear Bumper,
      Genuine GLI Sideskirts,
      Genuine GLI Trunk Spoiler
      Custom Diesel Badge
      Deleted Front Lip

      Inside:
3M Walnut Vinyl Wrapped Trim with Embossed BFI Logo
      Custom “Persian” Floor Mats
Custom Gauge Panel for Boost, Volt, Clock
BFI Prototype Heavyweight Shiftknob Anodized Gold
NEW MB QUART NAUTIC MARINE NAU460 360-WATT A/B CLASS 4-CH.
      2 8" Hi-Vi Kevlar subwoofers
      Stinger 1.0 farad capacitor

Has the base - bluetooth head unit, and no sunroof (prefer the appearance ) but as far as that goes everything else the diesels is equipped with - steering wheel controls, cruise, keyless, heated seats, etc

      6 Speed Manual

      Mileage: 13,XXX k
Asking price: $23,000 still has the almost new car smell.

Always loved this build. Took your idea about the 10" Suspension straps and one of the most useful mods I've done to my suspension. Keeps my springs from falling out when I jack up the car, and provides just a tad bit more low

Really, really like this car a lot! Been planning on painting my 85 Golf in Toffee Brown. I also really like the Dieselpunk visual art genre, though these two things are completely different.
Either way, definitely one of my favorite cars on the vortex in while, GLWS

Haha yeah its just a subtle nod to the steampunk / dieselpunk with the brown, gold, ornate carpet kind of scheme coupled with modern. We mostly just needed a name for the project
