SOLD
I have an opportunity to get a new GTI, just ordered it yesterday, so putting this up for sale. It took a long time to find a clean sample of a GLI specifically with the Lagoon Blue color in 6 speed Manual, so I am sure that I will regret this in the not too distant future (actually even just this evening while taking pictures, its making me sad.
I am an older guy in comparison to most of the people on these forums, so the modifications I did are pretty conservative, and mostly OEM+, as it is my daily driver, and I was just looking for a comfortable daily with a good bump in power. This car runs excellent, has no issues. I have made sure that everything in the car is in working order.
Car has just over 112K miles on it, and I have the paperwork for the timing belt service (I think it was done about 15K miles ago, I can confirm for anyone interested).
I haven't dyno'd the car, but I think its safe to say it should have at least 250 whp as it sits, with room to add boost if you upgrade the fuel pump, and a big bump if you add rods. This turbo will easly crank out a solid 25psi of boost to red line. With the higher volume fuel pump, and more boost these turbos have put down Big Turbo hp numbers.
I have added the following modifications:
Engine/Exhaust/Intake:
- GTT K04 Hybrid Turbo (roughly 7K miles on it)
- 415cc Injectors (stock FPR)
- Unitronic K04 Hybrid Tune (flawless with great performance), running 19psi for now, would be safe to 21psi
- Forge UNOS Manual Boost Controller (still used the factory N75 valve)
- Forge DV Valve
- Forge Inlet Pipe
- Mk5 Red Coil Packs
- Carbonio Intake
- Godspeed Oversized SMIC
- Eurojet 3" Stainless Steel Turbo back exhaust system with a Eurojet hi-flow catalytic converter (I swapped out the Eurojet round muffler for a nice Borla stainless muffler, and the exhaust sounds way better than the Eurojet muffler, which was semi-fart-canny, but now is mellow while just driving, but has a nice note when revved to redline. Not abnoxious, and doesn't drone (the Eurojet muffler had bad drone). This exhaust was $1300 by itself.
Transmission:
- 02M Manual 6 speed with Peloquin LSD - Has about 10K miles on it
- Spec Stage 4 solid puck disk and pressure plate (super solid grip, and good for up to 550 horsepower) - Has about 10K miles on it
- New Slave Cylinder and throw out bearing (less than 2K miles ago)
Suspension:
- Bilstein PSS9 adjustable dampening coilovers - about 20K miles on them
- H&R Rear Sway Bar
Interior:
- NewSouth Boost gauge with Indiglo blue back lighting and single column pod
- Full LED interior lights and license plate lights
- Smoked fender markers and bumper lights
- Monster mats
Body/Exterior:
- Brand new OEM front bumper and lower spoiler (previous owner cracked the other one, and I wanted the front end to be nice and clean). Paint match is excellent
- Tinted windows
Maintenance (less than 2K miles ago):
- New Heater core
- Synthetic Oil Change
- Replaced all evap parts (everything under the intake manifold)
- Cam Tensioner seal replaced
- Valve cover gasket replaced
Tires have about 5K on them, lots of life left.
The previous owner wasn't very kind to the wheels, 3 of them have some pretty decent curbing, but they still look good from a distance. There are a couple rock chips in the windsheild. The A-pillars are delaminating, but it hasn't bothered me. Door panels and headliner in are excellent shape, no issues with delaminating. Seats and carpet are also in good shape as you can see in the pics.
All in all this is a very clean example of a GLI, and I know because I had a heck of a time finding one that wasn't totally hammered. Additionaly, it has nice mods that add up to a lot of money. The price is higher than KBB, due to the rarity of the cars, and the added mods, but is much less than you would pay to build this yourself.
Price is $8800
I have some of the stock parts, and for the right deal could entertain putting parts of it back to stock, but would like to sell it complete.
Call or text Dean at 503-819-1503 if you are interested or have questions.
Here are some pics, I will post a bunch. Let me know if you need any areas that I may have missed.
