      http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/4719040833.html

I just e-mailed this clown with the following message: "If one were to "enjoy all 12 cylinders of this british beauty", how
could they do so when it only has 6? An xj12 badge on the boot does
      not an xj12 make, captain"

If you're going to try to trick people into believing you're selling an xj12 maybe it would be smart to not include engine pics, AMIRITE?

      but.....

And before someone says something to the effect of "it had a v12, but it probably crapped out and they replaced it with the 6", mind that it's missing the v12 insignia on the passenger dash wood. X300s are great, but it's no x305.

Gosh I hate some people. Sorry if not too interesting, just bored on a sunday morn.

      Dislike. Flagged.

I'm sure TCL can make his post history before long if everybody flags it before they close the window.

What a dick. Even if he was selling it honestly, he's lucky if he gets 3k.

It's an early 90's Jaguar. It comes with a spare engine.

Did they even offer the 12 in 1995?

This guy might actually think it has 12 cylinders...

      He's advertising it as FWD

Seriously, he may just not know. A friend of mine was convinced he had a "v6 Mustang GT". This is even after I popped his hood and counted out the spark plug for him showing that it was indeed a v8 and that the v6 was never a gt model.

Yes, as well as '96 which was the last year. The x305, the real deal that is, is a quite excellent automobile.

Perhaps, but i have little sympathy for the stupid and none for scammers. $6k may not be a lot for some here but i think that if you're going to be asking that much for anything, that you would at least be informed of such a detail. If the seller is just clueless, maybe my e-mail and the subsequent flaggings led to 'getting the hint'.

Or sometimes it's a widow/ex-wife/estate selling it. Any sort of scammer would post a picture of someone else's engine or no engine pics at all.

Guy probably googled the badge on the back for specs and posted the ad. Wonder if he bought it thinking it was the 12.

If only he had a 4-cyl Fox body.....you could have convinced him he had a rare inline 8

You may be the first person to describe a 20 year old v12 jag as "excellent"

Wow, he convinced himself, against all reason, that he had less cylinders? That's certainly a rare situation.

So I emailed the guy and he replied that he's selling it for his coworker...looks like it's edited to show that it's an XJ-6.

Text of ad how it currently sits:

Enjoy this British Beauty and ride in the lap of luxury! Up for sale is my coveted Jaguar XJ6. Details are listed below.

      Make: Jaguar
      Model: XJ 6
      Year: 1995
      Miles: 156,000
      Transmission: Auto

Features: Leather interior with wood dash and wood accents throughout. The car has a built in garage door opener. Tons of interior room in this car and the trunk is humongous. The car rides extremely well and is fun to drive with plenty of horsepower when you need it. I am selling it simply because I am consolidating my fleet of cars. Call with questions after 5pm. Thanks.

FYI - I am not the original owner of this car. Someone cleverly rebadged the car as an X12, but in fact the car is an X6.
It seems the owner has corrected his mistake.
