Thread: How do I remove my headlights? 93'

    1. 11-22-2014 03:09 PM #1
I am at a loss. How the hell do I get them out? I need to replace my passenger side lamp but it appears to be obstructed by wires and the washer fluid reservoir. Does it come out from the front? Please help!

      Raise the hood.
On the upper right, and left side of the grille are 2 screws that may be under plastic caps, remove the caps, remove the screws.
Remove the 2 screw that hold the upper grille in place on the left and right of the catch on the valance.
The Grill will pivot down, but be held in check by the "high beam" wires.

You can now get to the 3 small Phillips screws that hold the head light ring in place at 12, 4, and 8 o'clock position.
Be sure that you mark the 12:00 tab as if you aren't used to VW then you may have to rotate it a bit to get it all aligned later.

The bulb will fall out once the trim ring is removed.
Grounds, Grounds, Grounds Replace them things.
Divorces, Great Coffee, and Electrics, all start with GOOD Grounds.

As always, thanks Briano. It was a snap.
