Just was giving it thought and will start this build for summer of 2015 for my mk1 drag rabbit. just went to drawing board a few nights ago with my fab guys at Speed Force Racing. And been in talks with Sprintex about getting a blower. This might be my ultimate build I think

This is going to be fun. I already started sourcing the motor & Blower! Will keep everyone posted

If you plan on hitting nitrous, I would definitely go with 5's

If you plan on hitting a G60 with nitrous, I would highly recommend you go with NGK BR7ES or BR8ES. The 7 is close to the Bosch 5 for temp range, 8 is colder, But they are non-projected tip. Of course I've never had much issue when I was running the projected tips, but it would be a shame to lose a motor that way.

If you have a ABA head or other VW motor that takes the smaller 5/8" hex instead of the bigger 13/16", and you wanted some non-projected tip colder plugs, you have to go with NGK racing plugs (these will fit the G60/counter flows also)

      #4091 = Heat range 7
      #4554 = Heat Range 8
      #5238 = Heat Range 9
"Criminally insane, with a few brief lucid intervals."

Well I was waiting on a few things from Europe like Cogged Belt Pulleys and slim tensioner so I wouldn't have to bash my frame rail after my truck just getting almost 10k in body work and Paint! Here are some pics of motor in my truck since I got a few hours in today after work. I had my Buddy Brian start all the wiring over this past weekend since im running 1992 Cabriolet Dash & Cluster so it was a Biiittcchhh matching up wires from a 1981 to 1992 but all figured out

I bought this several years ago but was beat up and sent it off to a friend that owns a body shop called GA Coach Works and he had it for 5 or 6 months doing all the body work and paint. I will be much happier once its completed

      Thanks G60 Carat!

This is what the truck look like when I first got it.

What you planning on running for a Radiator and Interfooler ?

I am in the works of putting a G60 in to my Cabriolet, and those are 2 things i havent decided on yet.. I was thinking of using the stock MK1 radiotor with a slim aftermarket fan, and a vertical draft intercooler mounted in front of it (to get around using the expensive as heck 180 degree bend out of the intercooler for a FMIC) however i have not gotten to that bridge yet. Still waiting on the machine shop to get done with my block.

Great build by the way !

As far as Intercooler & Radiator. Its all custom like my two other builds ive done in the past. here are some photos.
Here is two options either front or top mount intercooler both ive done. Im using Honda Civic 1999 Aluminum Radiator

My Old Set up on my rabbit Daily Driver.

And this was my last set up in my race car:

Both were a headache because of limited space but if you have a good fabricator he can make this happen!

      Good Luck

You mean the 180 off the back of the charger? You can still put a FMIC in front of the rad without one, just need a twin pass intercooler which has the inlet and outlet on the same side.d

As for the rad you could always run a MK2 rad upside down (probably the smaller non-A/C rad would fit better in a MK1)

I am curious, I have the idea of using a BBM RSR Outlet with some silicone bends Say one 90 deg, and a 45 degree ? I am thinking this would work, however i was wondering is there is something keeping people from doing it ? The only disadvantage that comes to mind would be the higher chance of a boost leak, and the expansion issues associated with using silicone.

It looks like you know your stuff with these installs so i figured you would be a good person to ask.

If I were going to do it the way your talking. I would go off the rsr with stainless 90. or buy the euro 180 degree

And yes to many silicone will lead to leaks and also will look a little ghetto. But that's just my opinion
