lol, I was at eurowerks. I wasnt all that impressed. I like how the show is euro oriented but there was
an STI, Fiesta(which was wicked cool along with the Cossworth escort) but why was there jap cars?
The Datsun 510 was also wicked!
    But still, why?
Next year, i have a prediction that there will be even more 17 year olds with riced
OUT STI's that mom and dad sponsors.
IT was nice a couple of years ago, but lately it has been kinda meh-ish.
I probably wont go again, I only went yesterday because my friend wanted to go.

You went because if you didn;t go we would have been stuck in the hot garage working on the mk1... Or getting chewed on by killer puppy.

No one is forcing you to go. Why did we allow a couple wicked cool imports that aren't european? (white sti, red 510, 1000hp foxbody, miata that you couldn't fit a finger under, any more?) Because we wanted to. The exhibition class was application only. The overall quality of cars this year was tenfold better than the past. We had double the sponsors we did least year. We were at capacity and had to turn away 15ish unregistered cars. We had more spectators than we ever have had in the past. The show gets bigger and better every year. We must be doing something right? No one is forcing you to go. Now I don't personally know you or the sti owner, but I'd much rather see that there then 3 color terrible offset wheel mk3s. No one is forcing you to go.

I'm tired as **** but I had a blast and I've heard nothing but good feedback so far. For the first time in awhile the weather was stellar during the show. I'd love to hear some constructive criticism but just telling me you're butthurt about "riced" sti's and fiestas really doesn't matter. Feel free to hop off the bus. Four others will take your spot.

nicely put Tofti. i dont rep the club, so i dont have to be nice

so to Titan, what do you drive that makes you the "euro" only flag carrier? or are you of the kids i have to deal with day after day telling me your making 500hp @ 4psi in your beat down obd1 VR6 POS's?

those "non" euro cars, are prob more euro in both build, and quality of work, then alot of what you might consider euro? cosworth, yea, never available here, but europe? you bet. same goes for the newer Escort, as well as the 510 cars. they were all available there too. so your argument holds no water buddy...

you dont like it, dont go. you can go play with the RK crowd, seems more your taste maybe?

Well, this has been the first time I have missed Eurowerks since it started in 07. It was mostly because I am so stupidly busy with wedding planning with the future wifey and working.

That being said, I did need a break from it. The last two shows get mixed up in my head because its starting to all look the same. It should just be called 'Euro Air Bag and oversized ugly rims Werks'.

I don't mind other makes and models being at the shows, ( datsun 510's are the tits, ditto that escort), I'm just anal and like things to be very specific. Importwerks? That way it can be both euro and Asain imports?

how about everyone quit worrying about semantics, and maybe get out from behind the keyboard once in a bit. so many people hung up about euro/ non euro? didnt see any of the people there in real life complaining...

X2 - because when it all boils down I'm an automotive enthusiast - not a VW/brand/genre fanboi. I don't care what the badge is, if its a cool car - I wanna see it.

I like cars and stuff. They're cool. I mostly went to hang with the people and to meet new friends, though. A lot of people seem so caught up on themselves and so individualistic that I can't imagine how boring their life is with themselves being their best friend all the time. Try embracing people without worrying about what you get out of it. It can make life very, very fun. There is a lot of good people out there. Honestly, if your going to the show strictly for the euro cars....you're missing one of the best aspects of the show, or any show for that matter,.....the people.

Reading skills over you...( no offense Mike, I agree with you on 99% of things and you do great work on your cars and at Further Performance)

I've been at every eurowerks show, even when it was called trashwerks back in '07. Again, I couldnt be there because I was working and then had to do more wedding crap.

I also said I really liked the Escort and the 510's..wish I could have been there to see them in person.

I am anal retentive and like specific labels for whatever. I am a car lover, not a vw fan boi, just a specifically labeled car guy.

Again, I also needed a break from this show...every damn bmw, audi and vw look the same..lowered with airbags and the same rims.

I am the furthest thing from a vw/audi fanboi, I

I'm actually in agreement with Titan... Of course, maybe I'm just bitter because I was sold bad parts and I wasn't able to drive my Rabbit to the show.

I mostly enjoyed the non-euro cars. The 510 was awesome, as were some of the others. Didn't care for all but that's a personal thing, and they aren't my cars.

But if having a couple Datsuns and corona wagon means turning away euro cars at a primarily euro show, then I would've done it differently. The reason I went to this one was to look at euro cars and talk euro cars (my wife's eyes glaze over if I start talking carb'ed ABA swaps, car show peoples don't). Specifically, I went to see mk1s and get a little inspiration for mine. If I wanted to see awesome Mustangs I would've gone to CarCraft, if I wanted to see ground scraping Miatas I would've gone elsewhere.

I wouldn't go to a donk show expecting to see 16v swapped Rabbits or carburetted Caddys.

Regardless, it was the 'eurowerks' show not the 'euro'werks show. So if they want to let in their members, that is up to them. I'm not really a 'car show person' anyway, so I probably won't go next year whether they allow non-euros or not.

    WoW, typical eurowerks.org reply.
You must hate your job, dont you run further performance? I hope none of those kids are your customers cuz that my friend is a ****ty thing to say about your customers or potential business. I am not bringing my car too you anymore. I dont know why someone of a specialized performance shop would voice his opinion, i honestly think it's a dumb ass move to do that. THis is the reason why i take my car if i absolutely have to ,to Chad at SCI. he is a good guy, he doesnt go mouthing off on forums like you. And i admire that about him. He is there if you have a question or concern and he is in general an awesome guy. He is not on here insulting other users or complain about "kids and having 500hp @4psi".
Talking **** about your customers and their POS OBD1 cars is not professional. I am disgusted that someone with your status would even say that. Shame on you.

What makes my car the "euro only" flag carrier?? is that it is a vw, and it was made in germany and germany according to geography is in europe so yeah...
BTW, it might be a POS, but it's 100%more euro than a miata or a subaru. Your opinion doesnt matter to me. I dont know you so I honestly dont care. BTW what i do to my car shouldnt matter to you. I have the decency to not insult other euro enthusiast and their vehicles or what they do to them. but you and tofti or whatever his name is seem to not have the common decency to respect others and their vehicles. To each his own mate.
BTW, i never had a problem with the cosworth or any other euro car that wasnt a vw or audi.
I liked them all, i was just pointing out that there was non euro vehicles at a euro show.

PS. I didnt bother to enter my car in the show because i didnt want too. I enjoy my POS on a daily basis, sure, its not pretty, sure the off set of the wheels might be a little odd, yeah it's a little rusty but I truely enjoy my GTI, I love the way that vr6 purrs and i love how well it handles;this is why i bought my gti, the driving experience. getting judged at a show is the last thing i care about.

actuall, you know what? next year i will enter my bonestock mazda2 at eurowerks just out of spite.

no, i am not the owner. and for the record, this is my personal opinoin. been on here far longer then i have been working for Further.

and i am far from a eurowerks.org guy, ask around. just sick of you whining like a little butt hurt scenester.

i am a fan of Chad and SCI as well, so glad to see your at least keeping it local, they are a bunch of good guys over there. believe it or not, we do help each other out from time to time, and dont get into the petty "he said/ she said" interweb forum bs.

as for not insulting the euro owners? re-read your original post? either your completely ignorant to what the term euro means, or just a troll looking to whine for attention? either way, still an insult to guys with a love for cars, regardless of whos dictionary explanation of the term "euro". they prob could care less of your opinoin as well. but if you gonna talk ****, your going to get called on it, at least thats how i work. nothing new to anyone that knows me in the least.

so yea, you dont dont like my personal take on it, and dont want to do business with us for that reason, then fine by me.

the euro community is really kinda small around these parts. so trying to set yourself apart, get could get you banished to the forest. if you dont like something, instead of whining, how about actually getting involved? i dont see you putting together shows/ gtgs/ forums/ etc in support of the community, for the community.

so sorry if you dont like the fact that i call it like i see it. but i know i am not

Whatever dude, you're not worth my time to argue. I am sorry though that my original post was insulting. It wasnt meant to be. I really digged the cosworth and fiesta. I was referring to the non euro cars, Nissan, miata, Subaru ect...
maybe its my fault for how I wrote the post. my punctuation wasnt correct. But non the less just like you are entitled to your opinion so am I and the show is drifting away from its roots.

Checking in from Northfield where I just found out I'm not the ONLY one with a Cabriolet. Yeah, a little far south, but I couldn't find a Northfield dubbers thread.
