I plan on keeping the car about 10 years until I finish my Low Light with 356 Super 90 project get settled etc. I plan on buying 18x8 ATS cups and making the car look as close as possible to my base model mk1. I don't know what is out there suspension wise. I love Uro Tunings setup it seems about spot in minus the fact that I will be running 18x8

Thanks guys I'm really really excited especially after seeing another customized Silk Blue!

Omg that was my college car back in 1990, except mine was a 4 door. My buddies called it the "pool" because it looked like the lining of a swimming pool. It lasted for 223k miles then I sold it for $350. I put 14 inch rims on the car too smh

Man silk blue is dark! Especially compared to my Lago! Can't wait to lower it and add the 18x8 cups!

Thanks! I have to say coming from a 1984 Jetta as a daily this is a big change, and I'm kind of dissapointed. You don't get the feedback from the motor or feel of the road like you did in mk1s. It's too quiet, no turbo noises like I was expecting and gear shifts/clutch release are too easy. It's made for the Everyman not a purist! But man this thing will hold a corner like I've never expected!

Alright Stage 2 scheduled for March 23 while I'm out of town so I will come back to a fast car.

Looking for an exhaust. I really like the Magnaflow MkV especially since it is stainless but I'm open to what's offered or fits. No GTI style or duals. I may try the VW sport exhaust if nothing else arises. I just love the left exit haha

Almost at the 2k mile mark already!

Can someone tell me which headlights these are? While I don't mind the Orange tbe clear corner really "modernizes" the Mk7 look. I don't actually like the lighting package lights -gasp- lol but wouldn't mind opening up a pair and painting some of the housing black and ditching the orange

Looks like I have my next mod then haha

Just ordered some Nokya H7s and H15s for the golf. Arctic white. Had great luck with my Mini Cooper. I had a spare set of yellows I threw in for the headlights until they arrive. The stock light output sucks and the man who designed who you access the bulbs had a sick sense of humor my right forearm is all scratched up and my DNA is all over the metal around the housing lol.

On another note why are H15 bulbs so pricy I mean dang $50 for two bulbs I've never spent over $15 for even Xenon bulbs before lol

I actually picked up some Nokya yellow H11's for the fogs. I have been running their yellows in my fogs in both my MK5 GTI's since day one and I love that look of white headlight/yellow fog. they should be delivered today so I give myself a weekend project, along with my blue tinted aspherical mirrors

Mine doesn't have fogs yet but once I pick some up yellow dogs right away. I ran the same style setup on my 02 Cooper S and loved it. We have lots of fog on my drive (through a valley) and the yellow dogs made a huge difference. I had yellow headlights but got sick of being pulled over with them. (Technically they were in the white spectrum but a cop doesn't like to hear that lol)

The headlights should be here Monday and I will finally be able to see lol

Nice start... may i ask what you are doing with the hardwood looks wise, from what i see, the flooring is short. Are you going to stagger it?

My overall length is 50 and 1/4 inches the flooring is 48. I may take one board longitudinally at the end or something. Right now I'm actually considering oem carpet material since I used a partical board base.

The flooring is something my dads compant made so we used it when redoing the one bathroom and this entire box was leftover so I'm doing a rear seat delete in both cars haha.
I really need to clean it now
