Whoa, whoa, whoa, are you/anyone else really planning on next weekend? Update the thread if so! I have to check my LSAT class schedule but if I don't have class that morning, I'm there. I really want to see this beast in person... oh, and the car as well.

Dude this is...awesome! Look forward to seeing it in person.

So, did you get rid of a car to make room for this?

      Yes...'progressively'...
I like the purple in your pictures - I don't like it on the website.

Tell the truth - how many times has stability been disabled in the past 24 hours and how long do you expect to keep rear tires on it?

Great choice. Looks spectacular overall, I'd just tone down some of the chrome.

Sucks that Canada doesn't get these.

Oh and tomorrow's the first day of spring . . .

      Nope

      Congrats!

Question - do the spring still need to settle? Back end seems higher than the front, based on the one picture.

But seriously, nice purchase. How would you rate the feel of the manual?

One test drive was all she needed. I think she got more excited about it than I did, actually.

This is one thing that will be a shock to my wife, who is used to a) FWD/AWD cars that we get 50,000 miles out of tires, or b) a RWD vehicle that doesn't have the power do a burnout on a wet surface

Good question - the shipping blocks are definitely out, so hopefully a little bit. Even if not, I'm fine with the way it sits as of now.

It's an Impala, get it right.

The manual feels great. It's a weird combination between 'effortless' and 'notchy' - I really like it. I just still need to get used to the feel of the clutch in stop and go traffic. Just a tad bit different than what I'm used to.

I'm just still in shock that I have it, honestly. I'll really wring it out once I have a couple hundred miles on it, but just punching it a couple times in third gear is a pretty intoxicating thing to do. The exhaust is quiet at highway cruising speeds, and has a nice (but not obnoxious) burble when decelerating.

Ergonomics is a tricky question. It's 'different'. I'm used to VW layouts, and the Mazda has a definite German feel in terms of ergonomics, so I'm just still trying to learn my way through all the new buttons. Everything is within reach, everything is backlit, and all has a quality feel. I do wish it had a real handbrake, but everyone is dropping those now.
      Thanks

How's the rear seat room? You have kids IIRC.

Lots of it. I don't have the exact figures, but it's definitely more than the Mazda. And we've had many trips with four adults sitting very comfortably in that car already. This thing gets half the mileage of the Mazda, but I could easily see it becoming our road trip car. The split personality between comfort/space and bat**** crazy is a wonderful thing.

No kids, yet. She's been on me for a couple years now...been a trooper about pushing it off a little more. Both cars would fit two carseats easily. We may be a one-and-done. If not, we'd probably consider a wagon or another Subaru in the future for a Mazda replacement.

As an aside - bravo, TCL...Bravo. The GIFs and picture replies have been spot-on.

Every time I start it up, this is pretty much my reaction.
