Post 'em if you got 'em.

I just ordered a 14" 12-gauge single for backpacking grouse duty:

Also have my eye on one of these:

Please put all those attachments on the 2nd one if you get it. Would love a picture with you holding it with all those things stuck on it.

      SAP 6? $700.

What about the Dominion Arms 12.5"? half the price, but you can't stick on so many things

    5. 05-08-2015 03:20 PM #5
The mag-fed Dominion Arms Grizzly apparently has jamming issues whereas the SAP-6 seems pretty trouble-free.

The tube-fed 8.5" Grizzly, on the other hand, looks like a hoot.

Can someone tell me the difference between AOW and SBS? Obviously the $5 AOW Stamp is a little easier to stomach... What's the deal?

Not sure you're using 'murican terms to a couple of canucks. In canadaland its cash and carry for those non restricted above. Just show license and you're good to go.

Short Bbl Shotgun is cut down below 18" from a full gun. Something like the Super Shorty, my understanding is that Serbu sources virgin receivers that have never been built into anything with a butstock or over the specified OAL and are built to the AOW definition.

I know I'm reading it on their website, but that makes absolutely no sense at all.

For an interesting read on the effectiveness of short-barelled shotguns, take a look at this:

I was wondering about that since I used to work for ATF (I left over 10 years ago). In general, a shotgun has to have at least an 18" barrel and be no less than 26" in length overall. Unless something has changed or some of these things are NFA registered, some of you guys look to have some illegal shorties Not that I care, I don't work for them anymore
Posts may not reflect the views of others, get over it.

Does it even matter? They'd just make the rules up as the go anyway.

I hope the rumors of the FBI taking over ATF go through... A regulatory agency that tried to become an enforcement agency is never good.

I've done some more reading on this, it appears that since the Sig Brace is not a stock, it is basically "pistol grip only" firearm and not a shotgun*. ie:Not ever designed and intended to be fired from the shoulder. Therefore, since it is not a shotgun, it can not be a short-barreled shotgun and falls under the definition of "firearm" and not any NFA controlled device. Additionally, I believe that since the OAL is over 26" when the brace is open, it does not meet the ATF's definition of 'concealable' which would make it an AOW. On top of that, the foregrip is angled, which has also avoided an AOW ruling from the NFA, unlike the vertical foregrip.

Make sure you check the state laws that you are hunting in. I know that in Montana and North Dakota, you cannot hunt with a shotgun that has a barrel shorter than 20 inches.
