      Yea, the pic of it in your second post makes that fairly obvious, but the first set of pics, looks like a movie-modified GT.

      They probably already decided on using a crazy kit car for the film and a researcher probably found it while looking online. It's actually quite plausible. If you go to Google Images and type in "Crazy kit car" you'll see a neon green example of this thing pop up only 8 rows down. Same thing happened with the famous Ghostface mask from the Scream movies. That mask had been in production for many years prior to the film. A prop guy looking for a mask for the film found it, contacted the company who made it (Fun World) and the rest was history. Pure luck.
