So recently my wife has been all about learning about cars, not even just about cars but shows, events, races ect. She asks about everything which is pretty cool because I love talking about it, she also helps work on the car, (did a stereo install yesterday and she did it herself as I walked her through it) how many of your partners ask/help you with stuff, and what do they ask/help with?

Haha. My wife always asks, and then says " ok just stop, I shouldn't have asked" as I explain how something like a brake system or house whozawhatzit works and how, yes, I know what I'm doing.

She does ask questions when I am indulging myself in chasing classic cars or one of the restoration shows. She'll say " that car is worth WHAT???" And then listen why. She does appreciate cars as art, especially the classics.

      I'm a girl on a car forum.

My husband also works on cars. He's also a welder. I had Dodge Viper posters on my walls as a teenager. My parents have told me more than once I must be an alien.

Nope. When I explain or talk about something car related she usually pretends to be interested. She doesn't care about the number of cars I have, though

      True love

I don't care about how many cars because usually I'm also responsible for at least one of them being here. Running or not. I've brought home just as many "free to a good home" cars as my husband.

Nope, and I like it that way. My hobbies are my time and I enjoy working on them on my own.

We're both teachers of the same subject area, so we just happen to both learn and share a lot from our fields. When it comes to my love of VW's and working on cars, nope, no real care. Just wants hers to run and have cold air.

      Same here.

I love learning more about cars, especially my own and how to take care of it. I've had a love of VWs since I was little, and my dad raced local stock cars so I grew up watching racing of all forms (he didn't race after I was born, but racing has always been a part of the family- NASCAR, NHRA, F1, IRL, LeMans, motocross, etc.). Never worked on them until later in life, but luckily I met my husband, who was a VW nut and a very patient teacher. I helped him when he was working on his first car (POS B4 Passat ) and he helped me maintain my New Beetle. In '08 we picked up a mk1 Jetta turbo diesel, on the condition that I got to help maintain and rebuild it. We got married in May of 2010 and in July we were ripping the engine out of the Jetta for a full rebuild, which we did ourselves. I learned so much during that and I loved every second of it. I also helped him with the timing belt job and auto->manual swap on his TDI.

My GF will be interested for 5 mins, then she will be day dreaming but i guess once in a while she does listen a bit, because i have caught her explaining or searching for stuff i have said before, i don't think that's a bad thing.
I had a funny signature before, and it went to waste with the switch!

No. She actually gets mad when I try and teach her things--she says I sound preachy and make her feel like she knows less than me.

She's touchy as ****. The times she does feign interest, she never responds to what I was talking about, rather she relates it to something in her own life.

I spent a weekend hanging out at the artists lounge at a music festival, she didn't ask about it. I spent a week cycling across Iowa with my law firm, she didn't ask about it.

      Jesus, I'm dating a maniac.

      Pu**y got me ****ed up.

Funny enough though, she has taken an interest to Porsches solely because of my reaction every time I see one. She says I look at them as if I'm checking out a girl. To which I respond "Porsches > girls."

My wife, besides just getting her masters degree, is generally not intellectually curious.
