Hello. this is my first post here and I really need some help my friend bought a b5 s4 recently and he wants more power but can't afford a tune right now. I told him to get all the silicone hoses, upgraded diverters, and a n75 race valve frome ecs, intake, and exhaust. But then I found the n75 delete on a 1.8t. I was wondering if it was possible to do the delete it without a tune and without it going Into limp mode. If it is possible what should the boost be. I have been searching for hours with results. PLEASE HELP

      *sigh*

Short answer = No. My advice is for your buddy to save up a few hundred dollars and do this 'right'. A proper tune will give the added performance without sacrificing how the car operates.

Can it be done? Yes. But, you'll need to set the MBC to allow no more boost pressure than the OE tune requests. You won't gain any power and the removing of the N75 from the loop removes most of your ability to modulate how much torque you want as you're driving around (on/off).

Likely if you try and add a manual boost controller to give you more boost without a tune you will put the vehicle in limp mode and throw an "over boost" code.

The best way to gain more power is to go with a chip tune.
